the ads on DS are SO annoying. half the time i cant even go to the next page because of them. i downloaded an adfinder but now i keep getting a pop up website nearly everytime i click on something. is there any other decent ad removers

Adblock plus....Just google for whatever browser you are using...Best in Chrome or Firefox but recently fixed for IE.

It sounds like you may some malware on your machine.
I'd try a full scan with Malwarebytes the free version is very good.

Ive only just bought a new computer with windows 8. Havent really installled many programmes

yeah and i removed the threats. it hasnt popped up in the past 5 minutes...

Seems like you are indeed infected with malware,I'm surprised malwarebytes didn't shift it.

It appears that there isn't an easy one click solution either.

By the looks of things it either came in with your previous adblocker or the fake looking adobe flashplayer popup the website shows a pic of.
The adobe one on a new computer would be very easy to accidentally install as you'd naturally believe that you didn't have the correct player installed to watch videos.

These days I have to have adblock plus installed because some malware sneaks onto your pc through poisoned advert streams.

It seems to be one of the malwares that initially tricks you into installing it.
It's hard to say where exactly it came from though

downloaded one of those programmes and so far so good its not popped up.

ugh it just came up when i just double clicked somehere on a page. whhhy have i got this only two weeks in.
