There wasn't any controversy.

A few DS posters getting steamed up is not controversy.

And all that Abi's performance has served to do is get her enough votes to give her another week in the show.

Well I notice Abi is already starting to drift badly in the betting so it seems she didn't exactly impress anyone last night.

She's better than most of them. But she won't last, too interesting.

She showed moments of promise... but was also pretty flat at times. The overall effect being kind of "meh". Still, I'm hopeful she can do better than that in later shows.

It's from America's Got Talent btw, uncoincidentally another Cowell show. He always transfers his favourite song productions between shows, like taking a superb rendition of Hallelujah from American Idol and giving it to X Factor in the very next season as the winner's song.

Nothing in this show is original. Or rather, it won't be for long before crossing the Atlantic.

So I hope this link silences those "she's so original" comments. She was given the song AND how to sing it.”

Thank you. That was illuminating.

The performance in that youtube vid was very good. But there is something more special about Abi's performance. It is to do with the quality of the highs in her voice which was not present in the singer's voice in the above clip.

You really feel the goosebumps on your skin when Abi sings it. But i got almost nothing from the singer in the above clip. That is why i rate Abi so highly and that clip only reinforces that for me.

This is how you draw the emotion out of that song, and turn it into something listenable:

The only piano version I've heard that's worth listening to

Great point. There always seems to be a vote out there for a girl who can't sing a note.

Vickers wasn't quite so bad though.

She is absolutely terrible. Couldn't sing if her life depended on it.

Jeez I would rather listen to Rylan Clarke than listen to performance again.

It was better than Nick tbh tonight. His performance was pitchy all over especially that horrible one note falsetto. He saved it with that last held note. It was a mess and yet I don't see topic after topic about it yet you people seem to constantly need to berate Abi for a mostly fine, a little pitchy here and there, 'different' arrangement.

This is the ONLY way this should be performed, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye7H6yMy1Ks

I like the Abi/Sophie version, but I'm sorry, Abi hit sooo many bum notes, it was dreadful. Her voice is very 'thin', no guts to it, and terribly nasal.
