Anyone else getting tired of Dave and Karen's comedy routines?

He brings tears of joy to my eyes. There are a small handful that I would like to see go before him, but, unless he improves he will need to go in 3 or so weeks time.

It happens every year where an entertainment character is kept in beyond the quality of their dances but they go when we get down to the serious contenders.

I didn't think I would get bored of him already but afraid I am - agree with others and prefer Mark .

Dave's not a dancer, same as another person might not be as good at cooking as he is. And for all his loveable clowning, he can be quite snippy when the judges pull him up on it. Why? It's not a clowning skills competition.

I now prefer Julien to Dave, because he can carry off a spandex suit and at least looked like was half dancing tonight.

Not tired of him at the moment. I would like to see him try to do a routine more seriously but there are more tiresome ones there than him IMO like Vanessa and Julian. At least he is entertaining in his own way albeit a very strange way. Vanessa for example I just find repellent, she doesn't even appear to make an effort to try to entertain or to dance properly.

I would like to see him put a bit more effort into actually trying to dance but that is up to Karen I guess to put some more movement into the choreo even if it isn't the greatest for now though I'm happy for him to stay over some of the others.

And kudos to Karen for choreographing routines that appeal to Dave's comedic nature without disrespecting the dance itself. That may not have been the best paso you'll ever see, but it was recognisably a paso and Dave tried to convey the character of the dance, even though he couldn't manage any of the techniques.

And at least he's genuinely trying, which is more than can be said for other comic turns we've had over the years. My favourite dance of the night was Natalie and Artem's rumba, but they're safe at the top of the leaderboard, so I voted for Dave and Karen.”

THank you for saving me typing! I love Dave, he seems like an adorable bloke and I think his wife is a very lucky woman.

I can live with him over Vanessa and Julian so two to three more weeks I guess

yes if Dave continues clowning around I may even have to start voting for Julien

There was content in Dave's paso doble but it wasn't executed well. Having said that I love watching him have a go and hearing his witticisms after the event. Loved it when Tess suggested he might need a rest and he said no.

Comedy routine? What else has he got apart from looking like Worzel Gummidge on a bad day. He is an embarrassment.

No, Scorpio, he did a lot of dance moves and learned a few of the traditional "bull" moves that so many SCD routines leave out. But his execution was poor or covered over by his hamming up, so that is why you missed them.

Yes, he is not trying at all.

He should go sad to say if he does not improve or at least attempt to perform the dance.

Is he knowingly doing 'the comedy routine'?

Or does he have Craig Kelly syndrome?

I certainly howled with laughter during his routine (whereas I squeaked in horror during Vanessa's routine - which I literally watched through my fingers )

But, I'm not sure that Dave thought that his routine would leave people howling with laughter.

Which makes it all a lot less 'entertaining'.

While I disagree re-Susanna, who I love watching, I agree with the rest of your post. Although I think Ben was much better tonight, the rest of them are pretty boring and I don't particularly find them entertaining.

I think Len was right when he said that Mark "gets it", but sadly Dave hasn't got it at all. No musicality, no rhythm, absolutely no "feel" for dance. Flat footed and stomping around the dance floor. I'm also not sure whether he's taking the p*** out of himself or whether he actually believes he is dancing. A couple more weeks at the most, then I will certainly be fed up with him.

He is this year's clown and people love laughing at him. He should go next for his inability to put two steps together.

I like them as a couple and hope they stay a bit longer, at least until Julien has gone anyway. But I don't want to see them turn into another "people's favourite" costing far better dancers a chance to progress.

No comedy just bad dancing. Actually what we saw tonight was not dancing. Looked more like a 6 year stamping about to the music.

But he is really trying his BEST and that always count a lot in my book plus he is enjoying the whole strictly experience and has an amazing partnership with karen. What more do people want ? Like I said, he's trying.

Yup, that's where I am on this as well. LMAO, but only so much before it gets stale.

I do like Dave because he clearly loves his dancing even though he knows he cannot. I liked Karen comment to him I. Training "I love your passion you just need to get the steps right"

Yes tired of it now but sadly those who care more about 'entertainment' than dancing will probably keep them in for another two weeks until it becomes so cringingly embarrassing that even they feel obliged to put him out of his misery. Even Tony was a better dancer than Dave!

There's some rubbish to go yet before he bows out. Plus Karen has been a great addition to the team over the last couple of years.

Hopefully another week or two max. He seems to think he's doing quite well. Pity for him he's making Julien look good - well, o.k.
