It's nice that they're trying something to spice it up. It's unfair though.

Like the above poster said, it's good that they're trying to change things up, but they haven't thought this through at all.

There's so many flaws with it, but that's good for the producers, gives them even more room to manipulate the results.

We all know it's done to get more money out of the voters (like me ) but I like it, it's nowhere near as cruel as the bootcamp thing though, that was so wrong, imo.

Can't stand it. I liked it last year where voting was open throughout the entire show because their performance slots weren't affected and there wasn't a limited time on it either.

Totally unfair on the one who has less than 10 minutes of voting while the others have 24 hours and bags of time for multiple votes. This years X Factor is cruel in my opinion what with this flash vote and those stupid chairs.

I personally hope they drop it halfway through the series.

I think in theory its a good idea, but its been done wrong.

I would have preferred a flash vote AFTER the singoff. So the public decide who gets another chance.

The judges voting always seems a bit..fixed to me.

Whilst I wouldn't say it was a 'brilliant' idea it does at least give you a reason to watch the Saturday show live. On the other hand it also makes things easier for TPTB to keep their favoured contestants safe.

Totally unfair. Just because you are bottom of the voting after 10 minutes, doesn't mean you would be bottom 24 hours later!

X Factor only scraped 8 million viewers last night which is a million lower than the equivalent show last year, and last week. I don't think it's worked if that was their intention.

I guess what I really meant was that it gave me a reason to watch the Saturday show live. My motivation to do so has plummeted in recent years, I normally just watch it later and fast forward through the filler - it is amazing how quickly you can get through the show watching just the performances and comments.

I am a little confused by it. I don't get how the sing-off will work, since we already know who has polled the lowest in the public vote? I wonder if they are doing the 'fifth judge' thing with the X-Factor app deciding the sing-off?

The lines re-opend last night, execpt for Shelley's as she will be in the sing off tonight, so whoever pull the lowest votes after the lines close tonight, will be with Shelley in the save me song sing off. Have I explained it ok?

None of the above.

A gimmick to get the voting figures up again.

I would of been good had it been a flash vote for the two people with the lowest votes .

It's going to ruin the suspense of tonight's results. I don't see what the producer gain from this either - missing out on votes for Shelley...

Yeah, I get that part I just wondered what would happen if it went to deadlock?

This is so true - and mostly the reason why I watch it later too. Seriously I think they would be much better doing a show that is JUST performances and comments, and then have all the other stuff in Xtra Factor for people that are interested. I have NO interest in watching how the contestants have prepared during the week or what they've been doing. Maybe we're in the minority on this, but I think a lot more people would watch if it didn't involve all that rubbish.

Re: the flash vote, it's a load of rubbish. There are lots of people who for whatever reason can't watch the live show or vote in that ten minute slot, so you're losing their money straight off and the acts they support lose the votes. I also really don't want to know until the Sunday show who is in the bottom two. They can't have thought it through properly surely - if your favourite act is chosen on the Saturday as one of the bottom two, you won't vote again because you can't, whereas presumably people voted lots of times for their favourite act over the 24 hours usually. I'm so confused! Why would they do it???
