Deeply unfair 'flash vote'
I don't see how it's fair that someone should have to face the prospect of a sing-off which could result in them exiting the competition on the basis of eight minutes. All the other contestants get a far longer period of time. Who is to say that the voting figures would have changed substantially? There's a good chance of it. I call for this deeply unfair new 'twist' to be scrapped. It's just to add drama and put extra pressure and strain on the contestants, as if they don't have enough already!

Dont agree i would rather the 1 with the least votes go straight home then we wouldnt have to have a long and protracted sunday show Which I only ever watch the last 15 minutes of anyway!!

Flash vote is a good idea.
The lowest votes act tonight could go on the first night for me. |

Flash voting would've actually worked if they had 16 acts in the live shows.
Get rid of the lowest act (16th place) on Saturday automatically, then do the usual bottom two stuff with 15th and 14th place on the Sunday. Flash voting could've only have happened for the first four weeks this way, or we'd lose too many acts before the final, but I think that would've worked better rather than doing it for the entire live shows. It would've been fair and a lot less complicated, too. Where are the wildcards when you need 'em? |

Problem with this flash vote is what happens if following the sing off the judges can't decide who to send home. We surely can't go to a deadlock as the flashvote act will obviously have received the least amount of votes as lines only open 10 minutes for them compared with the other act who had 24 hours.

Yes, it's flawed, but the show doesn't seem to have thought it through at all... |

Maybe it won't go to deadlock this series? IIRC, the first series with four judges didn't go to deadlock until the final panel vote, when Beverley left over Hope.
Has it been confirmed that Shelley will go if the panel vote is tied? |

It will likely goto a dead lock eventually.

Yes because after 10 minutes she had the lowest votes of them all. Now everyone else has had a day to continue getting votes. It's impossible for her not to have the lowest votes than anyone else tomorrow night.

Chances of anybody surviving after coming last in the flash vote are pretty slim.

I'll rephrase the question - has it been confirmed that they'll return to the public vote if the panel vote goes to deadlock?
Since the article has been spot on in every other aspect, I expect it to be correct about this, but nothing has been confirmed. |

If it is to avoid deadlock then why not announce the lowest votes at the beginning of Sundays show. Then the rest of the show people can continue voting. 8 minutes is very short time to vote.. I think its been mentioned before that the majority, or a very large amount, of the votes come in during the Results show usually.

Nothing is fair in a competition like this.
