'Orrible VTs appear to be under control this year

Saying this with fingers, legs, toes and teeth crossed, but so far it seems that nearly all of the dance show VTs at the moment appear to be under control : short, relevant to dancing, and otherwise either a reminder of previous week or giving real training footage.

All kudos to the new producer for cutting out the ghastly photoshoot faffling of previous years. Hopefully this will not degenerate as the series continues.

No, but it was mercifully short. I did qualify the statement by saying "nearly all"

It was interesting - all of the VTs this week seemed themed towards telling us more about the celebrity's personal lives and backstories. It was all a bit X Factor but I guess if we're not having much training footage this is better than haunted houses and jive bunnies and everything they did to Tracy Beaker last year.

Given the theme was lurve, I was highly relieved they went down the family line for most of them rather than the usual contrived 'dates'. Notwithstanding the fact that Liverpool lover, Abbey apparently thinks the Beatles actually played in the modern Cavern theme park!

Agree with OP. A lot of it is scripted, but I'd rather that than the downright stupid 'comedy' VTs.

The only one I enjoyed was Ben's and that was only because of the stupidly happy grin he was wearing after watching his two girls, when he was supposed to be having sex thoughts about Kristina It was a charming moment.

They're still abit cheesy, and I'd prefer we just see training footage rather than a moving family album (though I know some love that kind of thing, which is fair enough). But less of the silly acting scenarios is a good thing.
