Might be an interesting leaderboard this week, as Abbey and Patrick have a chance of recapturing their week 1 form, Rachel should also be more comfortable in hold and we'll get to see how Sophie and Susanna have improved in the other discipline since week 1.

Plus we'll get to see if Vanessa's acting skills have gotten any better in the Latin

Who decides who does which dances? Do the pros get told that they're have to do a Latin for example and they choose which one or do they get told by the producers specifically which dance?

I've no idea, but I'm really interested to know this too.

I think a lot of us would like to know that!

I think it's a case of the pros given a selection and they then decide which one.

Take Susanna week 1 - Kevin was probably told that he had to do a Latin, and as Susanna wouldn't be able to do the CCC on account of doing it for the CiN special, he probably picked Jive as that may have been his specialty.

In week 1 the producers provide the genre and the music.

Thereafter I think the pro and celeb have more of a say what music they want to use (as long as it can be cleared for copyright/royalties etc) but the producers decide the order of the genres.

I could tell you one do the dances for next week as I got it from the horse's mouth but I'd better not until after the results show is on - as it might be an indication of a spoiler and I don't want to be accused of putting a spoiler type post outside the spoiler thread.

You could put it in (or under) a spoiler bar.

If anyone clicks on it then it is their own fault (unless perhaps it is the other couple in the dance off).

Interesting week for sure, can see the older ladies falling a bit behind (all probably having latin dances).

Would be interesting to see one (or two) of Rachel, Abbey or Sophie doing the quickstep, as the young female ones (bar Natalie) struggle a bit with the pace and it is still relatively early in the competition (to get tough dances out of the way).

I don't believe for a second that the professionals have any say in the dance they do. They are told.

I believe the producers decide the running order of the dances for each couple at the outset of the series.

Dave's dance is the waltz for next week.

To me his survival depends on if Karen can make it crowd pleasing enough to keep him out of the dance off.

I'm really pleased about that. Dave is light on his feet, he'll be in hold, so Karen can steer the timing. His posture is getting better so that should show.

You're right, Karen needs to choreograph a good routine, though

I've always believed this as well, in series 5, after about the 2nd week, Gethin was asked about the paso, and he said they had it really late in the competition if he stayed that long. He danced it in the semi final, I think
