7th best out of 14 for avoiding elimination, 6th best out of 14 for avoiding the bottom 2. So right in the middle really.

So with the latest updates

Abbey & Aljaz - ? (should be ballroom, having just done two latins)
Ashley & Ola - Viennese Waltz (Ashley's Twitter)
Ben & Kristina - Salsa (Kristina's Twitter)
Dave & Karen - Waltz (SaraV from the show)
Deborah & Robin - Jive (confirmed by Deborah on Loose Women)
Fiona & Anton - Rumba (Fiona's twitter)
Julien & Janette - Salsa (Janette's twitter)
Mark & Iveta - ?
Natalie & Artem - ?
Patrick & Anya - Cha-Cha-Cha (ITT)
Rachel & Pasha - Quickstep (Rachel's Twitter)
Sophie & Brendan - Foxtrot (Sophie's husband's Twitter)
Susanna & Kevin - ? (should be latin)

I don't see Julien surviving another latin. I think Fiona will be OK with rumba; although we've limited evidence of Anton doing it with somebody who can dance his and Laila's would have probably been good were it not for her injury that week.

Forget the front row just sitting back. I think we'll be seeing a bevvy of stagehands racing on to remove the front row altogether ...

Out of curiosity what's the best? Charleston?

Since they really do seem to be giving as many different dance styles as possible I'll guess at paso for Susanna and american smooth for Abbey (showy dance and possibility of getting her back up to her week 1 level). From his twitter it looks like Mark might have latin.

Julien's doing one crazy dance after another.

If they gave him a Waltz or a Rhumba or something, we might see a calmer, gentler side to him. And that might endear him to people more.

At the moment it's all POW POW POW and unfortunately it's turning people off.

The only 'clues' we have for Mark and Natalie are that Mark is doing a 'less serious' dance this week (so a Latin or a Quickstep I think), and that both Natalie and Artem are 'very excited' about their routine - I reckon they might just have the Samba.

If Abbey's doing a Ballroom routine, my guess is an American Smooth.

Susanna I think may well be doing the Paso.

Wonder if the producers want him off ASAP?

Viennese Waltz is best for avoiding elimination, by a large margin. Charleston is best for avoiding the bottom 2, but Tony going out on it skewed it out to only 6th best for avoiding actually going out.

Jusyt watched the Nancy Halloween rumba, and not that I'm saying it was good, but it was better than I remember it being and there were a good few rumba steps in there which she attempted. Her basic was all over the place tho.

Thanks hun.

I suppose it's because it used to go up against party latins?

They had a chance on Saturday and booted off Vanessa!

I think they hope that by continually feeding us FABULOUS over-the-top Julien, we'll eventually succumb to his charms. They need to change tack.

I've already decided to vote for him this weekend whatever happens. I can't bear the thought of someone landing in the bottom two 3 times in a row. It's cruel. I want Julien to experience being saved one time. Then he can go. His loudness is annoying as hell but he's essentially a nice guy who is working incredibly hard to try to get better. I'm beginning to feel slightly sorry for him.

Is that on absolute count or percentages? I seem to recall it being down at the bottom on percentage count on the stats section ITT ran (iirc they only showed half of the dances, though).

I've always done it on %.

While we're having a stats party, what's the worst?

Fiona rumba, Deborah jive, Dave waltz (presumably relatively quiet), Patrick cha cha and Mark as yet unknown Latin that requires ballet (rumba?) - I think it's wide wide open who might be in the b2 this week (probably with Julien). To be fair the cha cha might suit Patrick better than being in hold, so he's probably going to be safe, but otherwise I think it could be a tough week for a lot of people.

Salsa is Janette's thing, isn't it? She's had a bit of flack for not having the right technique herself in some of the dances, so it might be interesting to see her teaching in her own element...

I'd love Samba, but my guess is paso - only because she said something like 'favourite so far' and I think the drama of it might appeal to her. Just guessing..

I think the cha cha is going to be OK for Patrick- he seems like he's going to enjoy the latin more... As you say though, the rest is anyone's guess.

I think the judges are going to love Fiona's rumba. Hers is the sort of old bird giving it a good go, looking faintly embarrassed dance that they score well. Plus she's got ballet training and a good core, so she may have the strength and control to do a pretty valiant effort. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she scores aroundabout 30.

Yes, true, I am biased when it comes to Fiona, I can't warm to her, so I instantly thought 'Oh God', but that probably won't be the majority opinion.

It's not Fiona doing the rumba I'm worried about... It's Anton.

Julien with the Salsa.

I've a feeling he might have a breakthrough with this. Then again, he may have the inner core of jelly (again) and deliver a totally flat Latin.
