Does anyone else dislike Julien? He appears bitchy and cold. He always has a fake smile which I know is a strictly thing, but I don't get any warmth from it. It also wouldn't surprise me if he was on coke - with the "energy" he has. What are your thoughts?

Just horrible, I wonder if this will cause him to loose his "job" with the ITT clothing spot, being they may realise he isn't really liked

He might not be appealing to people on Strictly but I can't help but remember that he designs the most glorious dresses which makes up for a lot in my book.

Isn't shallowness and being up oneself a hallmark of Strictly? At least Julien does worthwhile charity work and is seriously good at his day job. He's not a good dancer so should be out next week unless he's in a dance off with Dave which currently seems unlikely.

No, I dont thinks it a hallmark of Strictly at all . I could reel off lots of contestants who were not at all so .
Julien is a vain , loud, screechy , deluded , and irritating man on Strictly .What is charity work has to do with anything is beyond me .

well, i wouldn't want to listen to him for too long, or watch him come to that, but no, i don't get the hate fest, particularly not the seething, writhing, aliveness of the vitriol from one previous poster here. after all, he's not bashar assad... if you hate anyone you don't know that much, its usually telling you something about yourself, not them...

Well I like him. He throws himself into every dance with huge enthusiasm, and he is improving. Surely that is what Strictly is about.

I know he is irritating but to say he is no consequence is harsh! I doubt the people he employs would say the same...
Exactly he employs people, he contributes to the economy.

That was good choreography from Janette and in between all the small mistakes Julien showed some dancing skill.

If it was possible to somehow get him to dance as well as he would be capable of he might surprise a lot of people. There just seems to be other stuff that you probably couldn't filter out that would prevent him being filtered down to some pure dancing.

I agree, there is some potential there and as Force Ten says, he does design some nice dresses (strangely godetless most of them). And he obviouslt loves the show.

I don't understand the need for such vitriol either.

Yes, I liked the Blues Brothers theme, and (to be fair) he was doing ok at the start of the routine. Then he started his usual gurning to the crowd and it all got a bit messy. Maybe a different partner would have had a quiet word and told him he's not doing himself any favours with his OTT behaviour ?
But he's a very difficult bloke to warm to, I think I'll leave at that.

Didn't go anywhere Tony last week after he got voted off. Arms in the air and ran off shrieking - no 'hard luck' pat on the back.

You learn more about a person in victory than you do in defeat...

I really thought he improved yesterday and quite enjoyed his dance. It did have mistakes in it but I felt he was really trying and worked hard. Based on last night their are others who I would rather see go before him.

I'm not sure what sort of reaction that is supposed to evoke, but as a woman who eats the flesh of animals reared for the sole purpose of ending up on my dinner plate, has owned sheepskin, wears wool and opts for leather footwear, all I can manage is a shrug. Anything else would be hypocritical.

Perhaps backstage he did shake Tony's hand. He was probably too excited to have got through. Not a great fan of his but there are so many reason why he did what he did. He is a good designer and to want him to lose his ITT spot would be silly. He might even be shy, who knows.
