He seems to lack body strength, and I don't mean like a musle luft weights strenghth, just a general core strength which all the dances need to withstand the change of directions and versatily of body posiitons (depending on dances). I don't think there's enough time for him to bolster that up now, but if he could, it could make all the difference in his posture and other basic elements. In training he is just so lacklustre when he's marking things which I don't know if is down to lack of physica ability or just lack of physical energy (say from juggling this and work).

Perhaps he did..we'll never know unless we're told otherwise ...the fact remains in that moment his thoughts were just for himself rather than others which tells us a lot about him!

So was Vincent Simone, and he was strong in his core and a great dancer to boot.

In all fairness to Vincent Simone, he trained to be a dancer and his looked strong. Julien looks unhealthily thin IMO.

You said about size, so I said about Vincet to show how size is irrelivent to core strength. And we've had girl celebs on Strictly prob smaller than Julian, so whatever size you are doesn't mean you can't have core strenth (pro or no pro).

Possibly Julian is stressed, maybe he misjudged his work life and this (in regard to what he himself is actually capabale of, not in comparison to other celebs that can juggle both).

Liking him more and more each time I see one of these threads saying how awful he is.

I can't begin to think what weird and wobbly world you must come from to think there's something unusual about his BMI

Perhaps he or someone he knows read this forum; at least this time both he and his professional partner commiserated with Vanessa and James.

Same here, liking him more every week - couldn't stand him, when he appeared on ITT.

I like Julien, I know he's not the best dancer there-- by a very long way!--- but he is clearly loving it and his enthusiasm for dancing is refreshing he is obviously there just to learn to dance and to enjoy it he doesn't have an acting/ entertainment career to boost and I hope he stays for a few more weeks, lets face it the first half of any strictly series is more about entertainment than technical dance but once the weaker ones have left then the dance takes more importance. Until that point is reached I am quite happy to watch someone enjoying themselves so much and picking up a bit of dance technique

one of the problems with his dancing is that he does not dance with his partner. They don't jell on the dance floor. In fact I have rarely seen him look at her! I think if they get that right he would be more on time with his moves.

He probably thinks he will mess up if he looks at her. When I watch him dance, he is really concentrating and that makes it a little disjointed. But I do believe he tries very hard.
