I thought Ashley and Ola were very underscored

His scores were right in comparison to the other dances produced by the other competitors. His place on the final leader board was right irrespective of the scores he received.
It always surprises me why people give the scores such weight when it's leader board position which is the important thing to judge by.

Maybe so but I suspect the GBP would see the competitors as better than they really are when they are overmarked. They probably think Suzanna is a brilliant dancer after her 9s last night and that really isn't the case at all.

No I don't think the GA thinks that at all. Anyone whose watched SCD for more than one series will know that it's the places on the leader board which matter and not what scores are handed out by the judges.
And Susanna's dance was worth the 9s in comparison to the marks given out by the judges to the people who'd danced before her. She finished in the right place on the leader board.

They're trying to make it look like the men are not vastly worse than the women. Hence ludicrous overmarking for Patrick and Ashley.

Patrick was dire last night, but still got a good score.

He was quite good in the first half of the dance, and then it went a little to pot. Also, he's flat-footed and he really needs to work on his feet so they don't look like giant mud-flaps slapping onto the floor lol. But apart from that, I was quite surprised how well he did.

I agree with all of these quotes (except the Susanna part cause I thought she deserved a mix of 8's and 9's). Anyway, I thought Ashley's dance was one of the fairer scored dances. Most of the dances I felt was quite overscored so in comparison it made Ashley's look underscore, but I thought the 31 was right. He did dance it really well and got the right mood/feel of the dance but just needs to show that he's having a bit more fun. The talent is there though.

I really like Sophie but I thought Ashley's Samba was much better than hers... and that her Samba should have been scored lower in comparison.

I de have given him 10 points on just the chest ....

I think the judges overscored a few of the women so that it didn't look as if Natalie is way ahead of the field.

It is not debateable. He doesn't have moobs - quite the contrary! Its a fact!

Well, Samba IS a difficult dance, for both male and female celebs to do well.

He coped really well with the different beats of this dance. But he still tends to lower his chin and tense in that position, perhaps he was concentrating executing his moves or keeping to the time, but right now he still looks odd and therefore I don't think he's underscored.

His feet has improved so much. Compare this to cha-cha, which was basically flat-footed, he's not pointing his toes and steps on his balls when moving forward and that helped a great deal with his hip movement. He's looking more and more promising now and can finally give the girls a run for the money.

I really like Ashley but he really shouldn't get the chest out he isn't defined enough to really make it work. Not saying it's awful but a bit.....so what.

I hate the Samba for the male celebs it just makes me cringe, but he made a reasonable stab at it & was about right on the leaderboard

Definition of weedy in the Alli household - your chest is the same size as your waist.

So weedy would be led by Kevin Mole, followed by Brendan, James and Ashley. Julien is borderline.

Anton is disqualified as no-one wants to check.

I agree that and said somewhere I won't rather Ola does the chesticles expose rather than Ashley. The other only two good Sambas I could remember male celebs do was Ramps and Smug Farmer.

I agree about Kevin, Brendan, Anton (given) and maybe Alijaz and Pasha by your definition. But James?

James has buff arms and shoulders but weedy chest and tiny nipples.

Thank goodness I just finished drinking my fresh mint tea a fraction of a second before I read your post.

I agree, Ashley was definitely owed a few more points. He had loads of bounce and actually performed. I didn't see any discomfort at all, he seemed quite at ease considering it was a week three samba!

Yes, I agree. The samba has never been done as early as week 3 before so both Ashley and Sophie deserve credit for pulling it off so early.

He looked a little tensed. I think it's mainly because he danced with his chin tensed and turning towards his chest. That immediately render him like he's a little sheepish and so viewers (like me) still can't completely relax when they watch him dance. But I have a feeling his posture is going to get better.

He's already beginning not to look flat-footed in his latin dance (occasionally he forgot but more hit and misses). His cha-cha was really BAD in my book almost flat-footed all the way through.

Not actually correct Samba was done as a third dance by some couples in series 5. I know this because Gethin did Samba as third dance.

True technically it was but it was still only a third dance due to split week starts

Ah, Gethin. From that awkward looking cha-cha to that ing salsa. What a transformation!
