I'm switching off - it's not a competition it's a Natalie exhibition.

This is how I see Strictly too, I like most of them and dont really mind who wins...well maybe I would not be too happy with Vanessa or Dave running off with the glitterball.

Bye Judge , enjoy your flounce, not sure Natialie or Sophie will notice though

And I am damn sure the produces won't , next year there will also be someone with a lot of dance experience and the odd one or two people off DS will flounce, but if you are off to the X factor I really hope you find a "real" competition, there hasn't been one for years but you never know.

Yes, the public need to take to you, dancing or no dancing.

There's a dance off to keep good dancers in, but in the end one has to be popular to win.

Thank goodness you said that, I was having a serious déjà vu moment.

OP - Loving the flounce, but X-Factor being a credible competition...? Please....

Can I just add that the person who won it in the end did so because he was a cheeky chappy and had done a very , well, cheeky Charleston. It caught the public's imagination (it was the 1st year they had introduced that dance). Ola performed it again with him and they won, purely and simply on the fun and entertainment value. He was otherwise IMHO, a very mediocre dancer, although he had certainly learnt a lot and had improved.

The Charleston can totally and absolutely swing an audience. Look at Sophie - I think personally - that she is nowhere near as good as Natalie but everybody went bananas about her Charleston. It has placed her firmly in everybody's judgement-system as one to watch, although otherwise she is just ok.

Well...

Good flounce = staying absent for whole series. (i did like Austin's tango btw. On my list of memorable dances)

Bad flounce = exiting week n. Commenting on week n+1

Bad flounce = exiting when you say you will. Then re-registering under a different name so you can carry on voicing your sulks.

Absolutely Alli. Flouncing is an art from (or if it isn't it bloody well should be) and like any 'ART' needs no justification other than it is for its own sake. I think it should have a thread - nay... a forum in its own right!

But like any 'ART' you can't just throw in grandiose flourishes any old where and expect a good outcome. They have to fit the context. A multiple spin and dip sequence might look wonderful when the music builds to a crescendo in a dance but the same combination may not work so well when the music is just marking out the basic melody.

Similarly a spectacular flounce needs to be carefully placed and timed to perfect or it is just wrong! As you point out the Austin travesty was an optimum moment for a monumental flounce. I can see you are a natural talent in this!

BIB I so agree. Flouncing needs to be done with conviction and the lines need to be finished.

I love to watch some really talented dances in between the 'journeys' and the 'fun' dances.

She won't win, because she doesn't build up a fan base and she won't have a dzjurnie, but she's a joy to watch and the most important reason I watch the early shows.

I'm not sure why people say she is so good she has nowhere else to go. There is always the potential for improvement even if you are at the top of your profession. If she thought she was so good to just turn up and dance professionally, why does she put in so many hours training each week?

My sentiments I love watching her dance.

Even if you think it's a Natalie exhibition, her part of the show lasted about 8 minutes. There was nearly two hours of other dancers to watch. Why not enjoy them instead? I'm not a Natalie fan at all, but I'm not going to let one dancer ruin my enjoyment of an entire series.

I'm going to stick my neck out here because I have a hunch that Natalie will not win, despite the fact that she has an apparent advantage with her background.

Why not just enjoy the dancing?

I couldn't care less who wins so long as some of them show an improvement from week to week

I do find it hard to believe how seriously some of you take this

And it's early days yet, it will get far, far worse. Especially when someone's favourite goes out before Dave.

All the celebs are exhibiting their own talent. Some exhibit how good they are, some how promisng or medicore they are and others how awful they are. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
And with esp Dave, Julian and Vanessa still in the show, there are people for you to enjoy that can barely dance, let alone dance specific types of dance. Ben, Deborah and Rachel aren't great either, so there's another three celebs that you can enjoy that aren't like Natalie (if naturally non-dancers are your thing). There are still a majority of celebs in the show that you can watch exhibt their lesser talent, whereas some of us actually might enjoy the minority of celebs like Natalie, Abbey and Sophie exhibit their better talent. If you like journeys, plenty of them have one in front of them (even the more talented dancers), and plenty the cleebs are still parked and haven't even left the bay on that dancing journey.
