The backing tracks for all the acts in the chorus' were high. For me even Tamera looked like she was miming her chorus. She was hardly moving her mouth during the chorus and just strutting about.

Unfortunately it seems to be the in thing - however isn't new and looked to happen in previous series'

This was exposed during Little Mix's winning performance, when all the other finalists ran on and they stopped singing, there was still really loud singing audible from the backing track.

One Direction, Union J and Katie Waissel also used to have really loud backing vocals.

They all had backing tracks. I remember someone else took the micl away entirely and strutted across the stage off.

Yep, well said and I'm glad that I'm not alone in thinking this..

I always believed that One Direction's "harmonies," were on a backing track, particularly, as in the first few weeks they sang in unison.

I think that not only Kingsland Rd's harmonies, but also those of Miss Dynamix are already on a backing track, they seemed just a little bit too balanced.

However, I'd say that those of the 3 lads who sang at the end were true..
Unless they mimed the whole thing, it was exposed at the end by being a cappella and it sounded pretty live to me and pretty darn good too..

In addition to miming on the live shows, I've a suspicion that Miss Dynamix's "harmonies," were not their own in New York.

If this is going on, it's a disgrace..

Add to that, that I don't think these "group," numbers sung on the 2nd night are as "live," as they would have us believe?

Rich.

its a disgrace with all the miming. Should be stopped straight away. the loud backing tracks should also be gotten rid off as its hiding the real voice. if they cant sing they should not be there

it seem s more blatant this year for some reason

Maybe because they think they have more to cover up

But yep, miming is a disgrace, full stop..and the judges going along with it and commenting on "good harmonies," is an even bigger one.

I was in a studio a few months ago talking to some producers who were listening to some tracks we'd recorded in another studio and with another producer. Their criticism of the tracks was that the vocals were too far forward for what the public expect these days. I totally disagreed, I think that if the singer in a band can actually sing (and ours can) then they should be heard, clearly and in front of the instruments, rather than mixed in almost to the point of being a backing singer.
It's a trend these days and IMO it's wrong, let the singer be heard, that's the reason they're there, otherwise it might as well be an instrumental!
