But last year, or a few years ago, in TV listings, it wasn't called that. Why recently has it been renamed? I thought the ITV 10pm news bulletin was known at News At Ten?

It's to emphasise 'BBC News' as a brand. So the BBC Six O'Clock News is now BBC News at Six and so on and so forth. That's why News 24 is no longer News 24 even though everyone I know still calls it News 24.

I would say the BBC has far greater problems looking at their ratings.
A fraction of the country watching is hardly impressive. It just seems that way as a percentage of total viewers.

I think it will do well, its obvious at the moment that the reality shows ratings are on the up.
With no CBB last year and the rumoured line-up looking good then it could do really well with the right promotion. If there are some huge celebrities going in I would do some adverts revealing those celebrities like they did in Australia revealing the contestants last series.
I think it will get over 6million and if successful it will increase the summer ratings so CBB6 is very important for the shows future

I think 86 hundredths, just for BBC One and Two's weekly reach combined, is not a bad fraction.

The BBC seems to down play reach in favour of absolute ratings figures these days. It should be their key measure and not just the 15 minute reach number either.
Any thoughts on ratings for Parents of the Band beginning Friday 28th on BBC One?
When it was first commissioned, the BBC Press Office described it as a sitcom, but now it's been filmed, they're describing it as a drama. Doesn't bode well, does it?
Looking at RT today, it's described as a sitcom on one page, but described as a comedy drama on another page.

I wish BARB would report the reaches a bit better. I can't find a total BBC reach, only a BBC One/Two reach.
There's a total Sky reach, but no total ITV reach.

"Comedy drama" doesn't bode well. I would count something like Echo Beach as comedy drama in that it was meant to be drama but ended up more comedy than Moving Wallpaper largely due to the accidental comedy of the drama. (and yes, I said "comedy" and "drama" an awful lot!)

I agree with you both. I fear a Jam and Jerusalem situation. Sorry to to any J&J fans on this thread!
So, what, under 3m? If it gets over 5m, I might collapse...... saying that Echo Beach's debut did gain 5m viewers, so a good debut figure does not automatically get you immunity.
On that note, four new episodes of George Gently have been commisioned for next year.

If the PDF is correct, next year it's live on Sunday 29 March, I'm almost certain it's normally on Saturday's, so ITV it looks like have very cleverly (or not!) moved it to a Sunday. On an interesting note, if that's true, while The Boat Race is on, on BBC1 is likely to be at the same time a re-run of the Australian Grand Prix.
ITV look like they have done that on purpose by asking the organisers if you ask me.

I was stunned by IAC's figures, but it was a strong laucnh show, while IIRC last year's was full of Malcolm McLaren having a strop.
Hole in the Wall - just shows rubbish on TV does work, as long as it's on BBC1.
HITW has been given a huge boost by TV Burp-that's the only explanation...surely?!
Also Parents Of The Band is going up against Corrie. It's bad enough an established show like After You've Gone going up against it, but something new will flop big time.
