Looks like Britney boosted the audience and seems people are really getting into the show now its entering its final stages. Its a shame about Ruth, I'd like to think thats why 1.4m switched over to ITV2

Unbelievable ratings last night!

-Harry Hill over 1m up on last week to post a series high.
-X Factor up over 1m, giving it its highest ever rating (including all final shows) for its performances show.
-I'm a Celebrity got its highest rating since 2005.

What a night!

Fabulous performance for ITV with a 41% overall primetime share, several solid ratings for the BBC One too but lacklustre as a whole and dissapointing for Strictly to be dropping as it nears the finale. Strong showing for I'm a Celebrity too which almost squeezed SCD into third place.

I thought I'm a Celebrity would be going into decline by now but it is really rallying this series.

Truly astonishing. I cannot begin to imagine what heights the X Factor final might hit. 15 million peak?

Great night for ITV and I'm guessing many people were out late shopping which is why SCD is down, many returned at around 7pm so put TV Burp on instead.

The Britney factor obviously boosted XF, which in turn heavily boosted IAC which will break 10m in officials, move up in the top 10/20 chart and should give tonights show a boost with the surprise twist. Also quite possibly IAC and XF are boosting each other, because Family Fortunes could never get 9.6m so maybe some IAC viewers are tuning in for the XF?

1.4m for ITV2 in the 11pm hour is great and the the final Xtra Factor should bring in 2m. Also the main show has just beaten EE's highest rated episode of the year and will go ahead of DOI's final when the officials come out. 15m peak for the final anyone?? The hype last night was definetely worth it aswell with 2 amazing XF shows.

Awful night for CH4-imo they should revert back to showing big films like LOTR throughout primetime. Repeating a show in the exact same slot as it was in just 4 days ago is poor scheduling on the highest level.

EDIT: Just realised IAC was 0.1m off from Corrie's highest rating of the week...who would have thought that this year IAC would be that close to Corrie for a highlights show?!

Brilliant night for ITV throughout.

A peak of 12.78m and an average of 11.88m for X Factor, which is absolutely brilliant...(even though I hate the show with a passion).. but I can see the final of this years show hitting around 14m or over!!

SCD did well with a peak of 11.17m and an average of 9.8m which is respectable...I can see this years final hitting over 12m which is still brilliant this day and age..

Great stuff for both shows..and a great night for ITV1 and a a so-so night for BBC1 both together counted for a 62% share for the two main networks which just goes to show both have the power to pull in the punters...there was a scramble for 38% leftovers for all other channels....lol

I'm delighted 10.7m people saw Ruth Lorenzo's phenomenal final performance last night, so well deserved.

As for ITV, they must be delighted. Saturday night is one of the only nights they have scheduled properly - and just look at the results.

Something tells me we could have over 14m, maybe 15m for the final!!

I'm not expecting it this good next week, because of the messed up schedule due to British Comedy Awards.

Yeah. Why can't they just show The Comedy Awards later, or midweek? It's not like they've got anything better to show...

Thanks to Neil, I have learned that News at Ten on ITV1 this week averaged 3.01m (15%) from Monday to Thursday at 10pm. Not bad innings.

Have you got seperate ratings for Wed and Thurs Polonius because we know Monday's averaged 2.8m and because of the football on Tuesday it will only have averaged 1.9/2m therefore Wed and Thurs must have had big audiences to boost the averae up?

Interestingly, Cookalong came last in the 9pm slot, despite all of this week's publicity.

Well, I suppose you can't complain about XF's ratings last night! I think that with Britney on and the contestants all performing twice, it really was the biggest show of the series, but the actual numbers are incredible. The results passing 50% share is great as well and the first show probably got about 46% share.

IAC might benefit for its last week with some new viewers from last night. Merlin and Casualty got a fair dent from the rise in X Factor. Great share overall for ITV, Sunday and Antiques Roadshow can't come quickly enough for BBC1!

This is a guess on the ratings for NaT on Wednesday and Thursday:

Average: 3.01m (15%)
Monday: 2.84m (14.5%)
Tuesday: 1.9m (based on the fact that footie was before it)
Wednesday: 3.65m*
Thursday: 3.65m*

3.65 + 3.65 + 1.9 + 2.84 = 12.04 divided by 4 = 3.01m

Fantastic Ratings for ITV1 last night

This Series is really showing that it's the best one because so many people are watching it.

I was out in town with my mates last night and as we were walking down to town we heard people arguing over who should win.

SCD did well too even if I would like it to get at least 10-11million now.

IAC did fantastically well highest rating this series.

and 50%for the results show and 10.6m

I LOVE X Factor

Its worth giving credit for Merlin, as 5.9m is good figures for any timeslot, but against 12m on ITV1, its tremendous.

Likewise TV Burp's 6.7m was very impressive against Strictly.
