Um, I thought it was after the watershed?

Also, anyone know when ITV will release their Press Packs for 1st November to 7th November week - I thought the channels release them earlier and earlier up till Xmas?

Silent Witness stays strong on BBC One. With Spooks back soon they're looking good in the 9pm slots. A bit dissapointing for the Gryff Rhys Jones series. i understand it'll have been knocked by Paul Merton, but surely not too badly. Theres only 1.6 million watching Merton anyway.

The football puts in a solid performance as we could expect. Highlights figures will I guess be boosted somewhat by the fact the live broadcaster is Setanta rather than Sky to which more people have access.

BBC Three will have enjoyed a good overall share last night with the football which did quite well followed by Heroes.

Is 'Two and a half men' broadcast in the UK? It seems to do well for CBS in the US and totally dominate the Aussie ratings every night?!

It used to be broadcast on Five and Paramount Comedy currently show it but it's never really caught on and would really benefit from being shown daily on a digital channel like E4 or ITV2.

I think ITV2 should try and get some kind of stable programming block in early peak (7pm-9pm). Two and a Half Men has more than one hundred episodes, so that might fill in an hour nicely.

It seems to be on great form and it's helping My Name is Earl which got about 430,000. It helped E4 to a 5.5% share of viewers 16-34 for the day. The closest multi-channel competition was ITV2 with 3.3%. Five got 4.2%.

I've noticed recently that the Friends ratings are down a bit, but despite people generally favouring the early series, the later ones always seem to pick up better repeat ratings.

Overnights from Brand Republic:

“River Cottage Autumn cooks up 3.1m viewers on Channel 4

LONDON - Celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall returned to television screens last night in 'River Cottage Autumn', earning Channel 4 a bumper 3.1m viewers, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The audience easily beats the previous series average of 2.2m viewers for 'River Cottage Spring' when it was aired during May and June.”

Silent Witness got 6 million at 9pm.

From Broadcast:

Quote:
“Five put in Danger by ITV2

ITV2 scored a rare ratings victory over Five last night at 9pm as Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter attracted 1.1m (5.53%) for an hour.
The reality show, featuring glamour model Jordan and her husband, held a largely steady audience over the hour, giving the show an exact audience of 1,089,000. The ITV2 show then picked up another 259,000 on ITV2+1.

Katie and Peter managed to smash the entertainment channel's slot average for the year so far of 592,000 (3.01%).

The ITV2 show narrowly outperformed Five at the time which picked up 1,070,000 (4.7%) in the same slot.”

From Media Guardian, Paul O'Grady is losing some of its ratings power:

Quote:
“TV ratings: More than 1m celebrate Blue Peter's 50th birthday

A special live show to mark Blue Peter's 50th birthday pulled in more than 1 million viewers yesterday, Thursday October 16.

The BBC1 programme, which featured the special tea party held by the Queen for the show this week as well as fireworks and an appearance by pop group McFly, attracted 1.2 million viewers and a 9% share between 5.15pm and 6pm, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Blue Peter's 50th replaced quizshow The Weakest Link, which on Wednesday drew 1.9 million viewers and a 14% share in the same slot on BBC1.

ITV1's Britain's Best Dish came out on top in the 5pm hour with 2 million viewers and a 16% share.

Channel 4's The Paul O'Grady Show attracted 1.9 million and a 15% share in the same slot, with a further 77,000 watching on Channel 4 +1 an hour later.

BBC2's Escape to the Country picked up 1.4 million viewers and an 11% share between 5.15pm and 6pm.”

Total audience of 1.9m for Hollyoaks on E4 last night. It was their best ever audience for a UK commissioned show (I assume a first look episode of Friends got the highest?).

It's also the fourth most-watched non-sports show on multichannel so far this year.

This storyline has really boosted E4 and the first look episodes seem to be an integral part of their peaktime line-up.

It will be interesting to see how their exclusive Late Night Hollyoaks series does. In the past, I don't think they have been all that successful. I believe this one is running like Dead Set, 5 nights through a week.

It's interesting to see that such a huge number were watching on E4 in relation to the C4 showing. In total, almost 4 million viewers across the two episodes.
