BBC 1 have finally got round to announcing a start date for the Survivors re-make/reimagining in Week 48 (22 - 28 November). I'm guessing I will be showing in the Tuesday 9pm slot, but the first week is a double episode, so that it will be finished in time for The C Word.

Is the gap between Holby and ITV's opposite offerings narrowing a bit?

It is a bit, although Millionaire does better than that on Saturdays.

They're both lower than usual this week, however.

Russell Brand has resigned from his Radio 2 show! But he will walk into another job no problem and he's still going to be on Channel 4.

What's The C Word and will Survivors be on when I'm A Celebrity is on?

Perhaps C4 will hire him as a chatshow host.

Survivors is starting during IAC, unfortunately. Also, they're doing a Spooks, in airing the first 2 episodes in one week.

Just wondering, what sort of ratings does the 10 min 'National Lottery Draws' on a Wednesday night normally get?

Thanks

The C Word is the one which really shouldn't be mentioned til the start of December

And yes, Survivors will probably start when I'm A Celebrity is on, but hopefully it won't be drowned out. The BBC seem to be great a marketing their new dramas. They get people to at least tune in for the first episode, so that they can then decide if they'll like it or not i.e. Bonekickers.

I could see this being quite popular. Fans of the original show will want to see how they've updated it (I'm guessing they won't like it) and it's a show in the Spooks and Hustle thread which will probably appeal to younger viewers.

Fingers crossed people at least give it a chance.

Does anyone know when We Are Most Amused is set to air? It must be on Sunday 16th November, as if it wasn't around Charles' birthday it would be irrelevant, and there's nowhere else for it to go. Sunday is an odd choice for ITV to make about a show like that, though.

They seem to have moved Heartbeat to the following Tuesday to make room for it (subject to change, of course), has Heartbeat ever aired on a Tuesday before?

They had him as a chat show host - didn't really work out.

Mind you, Ponderland did really badly and they brought it back.

I hope Survivors is good because several of BBC1's new dramas in the last few months have done nothing for me.

I think C4 recognise that Brand is a real talent, and with the right vehicle he can pull in the viewers. Ponderland was certainly a vast improvement on The Russell Brand Show and did receive a BAFTA nomination which probably explains why it's been brought back.

I think it could do really well on Thursday now given all that's happened, probably around 1.2-1.4m.

Youre right. I think the gap between young and older is the biggest its ever been.
Personally it simply wouldnt enter my head to leave that kind of message and what could be considered funny is beyond me. Its disrespectful and embarrasing to a completely blameless man and there was no reason to do it.
Sacking Ross however will just mean he goes to another broadcaster and do the same thing. I dont see what that would achieve. Maybe he should be made to go and stand outside the classroom for the rest of the lesson as that seems to be where alot of his humour lies.

It could be a trial run. they might move it & the other similar shows there permanently to free up Sunday nights for new stuff

There is one good thing that will come out of this whole over blown situation. A cheaper Jonathan Ross, no way will he get £6m a year, more like 6m for 3 years.

A drama with the word Heart in the name, but it'll probably be Corrie.
