Er....isn't it simply because Emmerdale and Corrie isn't scheduled against it this year?

It's a good figure, but it didn't beat EastEnders and it got over 10 million last week didn't it?

number wise or share wise or both?

Good result for The Commander on ITV1, Channel 4 did well with Not Forgotten and The Lost WWI Bunker. Will be interesting how My Family at War fares tonight on BBC One.

Spooks really doesn't get the ratings it deserves in my opinion.

I've heard really good things about this series of Spooks..I haven't seen any of this series myself so can't really comment..in the clips I have seen it's nice to Richard Armitidge back on the telly again..

It did have strong competition from the Commander on ITV1 last night which is just as popular.

ITV should be getting a little worried about their 7pm soaphour on Mondays.

I wonder how long it'll be The One Show and Watchdog get 6m??!!

I never thought I would put Watchdog and 6m in the same sentence.

OMG! 5.2m for Watchdog against Coronation Street.

This better not turn into another Antiques Roadshow situation.

Imagine the DS headline next Monday- "Watchdog destroys Corrie in the ratings".

BBC1 seem to have found 2 rising hits in Watchdog and Antiques Roadshow with Watchdog almost beating The Commander! Also it is becoming apparent that The One Show's ratings are reguarly hitting the 5m mark now, whilst Emmerdale is struggling to hit the 7m mark, now the big domestic abuse storyline is dying down.

I actually thought EE would beat Corrie last night as EE continued with a high profile storyline whilst Corrie had 2 quite poor episodes imo.

A strong start for The Commander, which would probaby have got more if it wasn't scheduled up against Spooks.

CH4 seem to be getting back on track on Mondays with 3 Mondays in a row now pulling in decent ratings, particuarly in the 9pm hour.

Strong finishfor Hell's Kitchen, ITV presumably getting it out of the way before IAC starts. Quite a shock though that Spin Star performed well, I thought it would flop big time but to win the slot and get nearly a 17% share for ITV is very good.

I hope it stays in the same rating range today and tomorrow ala. what Criminal Justice did for BBC back in June.

This should raise the hype for IAC a bit, having a soapstar in it.

5.2m is pretty impressive for any show against Corrie.

I love the way 20(ish)-year-old episodes of Murder, She Wrote rate better than Countdown!

It's a typo from Broadcast, it must have been 15.9% for Countdown (rather than 11.9%) and 15.1% for Murder, She Wrote because they both got 1.1m. Still, to be equalling it is a good feat. Fairly strong starts for Spin Star & The Commander.

It wasn't up against Emmerdale and Coronation Street last year - it aired in the 8pm hour and averaged 5-6m.

I can't see why people are amazed at the success of the Antiques Roadshow with its huge ratings...i think it's brill. especially when Ethel from Norwich brings a bit of junk out of her attic to the roadshow thinking it's worth thousands..and the expert with the handle bar moustache tells her it's only worth a tenner in new money..facial expressions are absolutely priceless...lol...I want this show to be on Ice next year to give it more pizzazz...

I can't believe the ridiculous overreactions in this thread.

EastEnders gets 0.26m more than Corrie and suddenly Corrie is in crisis, ITV will be worried etc, forgetting every other rating so far this year!

THey dont have the same start & end times so the share can be different, even though they got the same figures in total
