You should read some of the comments about the Antiques Roadshow here.

I can see the Breaking News banner on DS now - "Ofcom confirm 1,000 complain over Antiques Roadshow 'con'"

Heads will roll.

You can see it now. Antiques Roadshow said they'd have a £ 1 million item and did shocker!!!

Yeap to see a 10 year old ugly lump of iron be valued at £1million...I would have been on the edge of my seat with such drama...classic!

I felt totally cheated by it.

The council knew it was worth £1m+. It was like the producers had arranged for some poor counciller to come down to the Antiques Roadshow with it just so they could break the record.

I totally agree with you Cent

I usually like the AR..but this seemed like a bit of ratings PR to me...this stunt could do some damage to the revial of its ratings in the coming weeks especially if viewers feel cheated!

AR was so dissapointing and i'm not surprised many of its viewers felt cheated.

According to Media Guardian, I'm A Celebrity launched with 8.9 million and Antiques Roadshow was watched by over 10 million!

AR top show of the day!!!

That must have dented Top Gear last night.

Wow at AR's figures. The jungle is up on last years launch as well surprisingly, and will have comfortably won its slot.

The most amazing thing to me is that A Touch Of Frost couldn't get a rating like I'm A Celebrity's launch figure. I can't stand the show and don't watch but it gets the viewers.

I'm a Celebrity Launch Ratings

2006 - 8.9m
2007 - 8.7m
2008 - 8.9m

Seems quite reliable and solid now.

Looking at that, the ratings for Stephen Fry and Top Gear were not much off from last week. So that means that even more people were drawn to TV last night because of I'm A Celebrity and Antiques Roadshow. So the viewers are out there if the right shows are on.

It looks like we were quite close to seeing both of those things come true!

Ouch for Britannia High

And I never thought I'd see the day when Heartbeat gets a 16.6% share. Blimey.

Even though I'm A Celebrity did well I'm surprised it is the main headline as I think Antiques Roadshow's performance was the big story of Sunday.

I'm really surprised at Im a celeb, I thought it would of got around 6 million. These reality shows seem to be doing well at the moment, I think CBB could give some impressive figures i January

I'm A Celebrity always does relatively well though. Even though it has declined it's still a banker for ITV.

CBB is a really important show for channel4 this year, a good series and the main Big Brother series may win some of its audience back next summer. Another series that doesn't interest the public (this summers was good IMO, but the press and public werent interested)

channel4 really have to get the cheque book out and amaze us with a huge name.

as for im a celeb...i think it'll do ok but the audience will decline, i think the lineup is the weakest so far, obviously every reality show has a few Z listers to pad out the numbers, but theres barely anyone famous!
