Very tough episode.

I'm usually pretty good at the missing vowels round but I hardly got any of them.

The episodes in these last two weeks have turned incredibly hard.

Those two teams seem to be on every week.

Likewise, my brain just didn't click with the questions this week - apart from a couple of very lucky guesses (I got Mother the same way the gamers did, for example), the best I could do was knowing what some of the groups were after the walls were completed.

There were a few easy questions early on, the Liberal Leaders was one but some absurdly hard ones later on. The gold to silver conversion coins and then how that guy guessed the months with bits of the letters that can be coloured in and so quickly seemed odd to me. As for the Jesus/Iesus answer, I still dont get that now. Also, must be the first missing vowels round where I did not get one. Usually get more than half.

It's about the little circle bits within the individual letters: they're isolated like islands, enclosed by the surrounding lines and strokes to form its own little circle (or island).

I can't remember the exact months, but it went something like this...

February = 3
August = 2
March = 1
July = none

I did abysmally tonight, and for that -- and because I am petty -- I blame the presence of YKW, though thankfully he'd toned down a bit/was edited out a lot.

I thought that was the easiest question of the whole episode and would have gone for July after the first clue. I must have spent too long doodling and colouring in letters in my school days.

I also know that Hull City is the only football club you cannot colour in.

The first clue in that question was that the text was presented differently to normal, which generally implies the question is about the appearance of the text and not the text itself- the fact that the islands were coloured in gave the game away completely.

If their owner gets their way... that won't be true soon!

I also found the missing vowels round impenetrable, too.

For the "impressionists" section I kept thinking about Rory Bremner and Mike Yarwood rather than painters.I hadn't heard of most of them.

Not when they're renamed Hull City Tigers they won't be.

Me too. I was mortified, which was obviously the intent of the question.

I never noticed that. In which case that was easy.

We did the Rory Bremner-type of impressionist in last week's vowel round. That was meant to be the joke.

Another one here who got nowhere with the missing vowels round.

I got the wine, the game birds and The Day Today pretty quickly.

I got the months one very easily from the second clue. And I don't get many OC connections right.

He seemed to be considerably more reserved than the last time he was on.

Just imagine what he does to his patients. Wake up to see him looking at you and you'd think you were in the afterlife!

Actually, he's on so many game shows it is a wonder he has any time to do any doctoring.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he no longer does. If he ever really did.

Having to get the first name as well was what made it tricky.

It's irritating when one team member bashes away at the buttons wasting time, which is off-putting to watch but I got some of them, I doubt it was any harder than normal.
