There's obviously a random factor in that the other side might have picked that question, but it would still be handing a bonus point to the Board Gamers if the other team didn't happen to know it. Having a question that specifically relates to the avowed interest of one of the teams,
in a semi final, was wrong. It's that simple. The question should have never made it into the show.
It's not VCM's fault, she (as has been said) just reads what's on the cards, more or less. But she obviously felt uncomfortable about it - as her attempt to laugh it off with the opposition showed. if she spotted it, the production team should have.
This was poor. There's no other ways about it. You might let it drop in a first round match, but this was a semi-final. A show that prides itself on intellectual rigour and standards of intelligence should do better.
