Hows life in your care home?
Do they still let you out at the weekend so you can do your local pub quiz?

Please, let's keep it civil. I've now got people following me around the forum calling me a liar in other threads too. It's not acceptable.

Let's just get back to only connect

Bare in mind that your profile states you are 42 but you claim to be in your thirties.......

I could easily get 40 points if I gave myself 5 points for each correct missing vowels question.

The clue always tells you the direction it had to go in.

41st tells you it had to go to 44th being the present day.

If it were 4th, it would tell you its going back to 1st etc.

Sometimes, they will tell you the 3rd in a sequence as the first clue, as in the Letter "C".

The answer to the 4th clue must be "F".

Why?

Because it could not possibly go in reverse as there isnt a letter before A in the alphabet.

The clues are always there if you look for them, it HAS to be like that for the question to work.”

Ok I can accept that reasoning. But if "C" is first in the sequence what is there to say sequence isn't C-F-I-L for instance. ? (every 3rd letter) Or C E F G? (1st 4 not closed in characters of alphabet.) Or one of numerous other sequences. I can accept some sequences are guessable after the first clue is is revealed , but not that every sequence can only have one outcome after just the first is known.

Back to my post that you were replying to, can you run us through your thought sequence in the 5 seconds you had available to make you think Depeche Mode was the correct answer? i.e identify song title, artist, members of group, sequence involving any member of that group, whilst also ruling out any possible sequence involving the song and/or it's title. All in the 5 seconds available?

Well 42 is the answer to life the universe and everything so very appropriate in this case

"C" cannot be the first clue in the sequences round, as you have pointed out there are far too many variables of what it could actually be.

The questions are designed that it should really only have one correct answer for the 4th clue.

44th: Timberwolf was the perfect example of this.

The Music sequence was straightforward for me, but i accept not for everyone. (The gang of 4 political leaders was lost to me, but not for others as an example of one i simply didnt work out.)

I know the song was an erasure track within a second. It was instantly recognizable to me. I thought of andy bell and vince clark - knew that he had been part of 4 bands and erasure was the last and Depeche Mode was the first.

I'm a bit of a fan, and had recently watched the youTube video "synth Britania" too.

When you know them, and you know you know them, its a great feeling.

Codeblue- Why don't you apply to go on the show?

As I said a few weeks back, not knowing two others is no excuse, as they now put teams together from single applicants-

Good idea.

What picture would they have used for Roy Jenkins anyway? Maybe the singer Catherine Jenkins?

I got 5 points, and VCM would have given me it for Lancashire Towns, thank you Mr Bolton.

Well, so did I, though in fact, as she allowed them to connect the first two clues, even though not the full sequence then, would she have allowed it after just one ?

VCM is in a very generous mood today. Must have been on the gin before filming.

Glad the shutterbugs lost, they were given correct on three occasions that wasn't technically correct.

Place names, £5 note, former capitals.

Seemed a bit easier tonight than usual, I got a few 3 pointers (no 5's though )

They were all correct technically or otherwise!

Place names - correct with the additional information that the two given were in Lancashire

Elizabeth Fry - the information that it was a fiver was not part of the answer so correct answer just by an unusual route

Erstwhile (not former) capitals entirely correct - the reason again not required.
