Just found this site with pictures of The Edge Restaurant in PI. Love the pic of the cream tea set out: tea, milk, scones, jam, and clotted cream. Yummmmmm.

I saw an interview w/ Philippa B. on a PBS station, I believe it was during the pledge drive. She mentioned certain criteria: He would not get divorced, not have a second child and not go outdoors without his suit. We all know what happened in S5 when, in fact, he did drive his Lexus in his pajamas out one morning with JH to give Louisa a break. I saw something on a site by Karen g.....??? that he wanted to play one episode of S7 in a coma! I would hope that S7 delves more deeply into both DM & LE's disfunctional childhoods and they could understand why they respond to each other the way they do. Also, I am hoping they explore more medical problems for DM to attend to outside of what Dr. Martin Schur suggests to the series. DM did say he gets many letters from drs. in the U.S.A. thus maybe exploring more widespread medical ideas.

Welcome back Mona, you have been away too long!

I never heard about them never getting divorced...well that saves a lot of worry. As to having a second child, I thought that issue had to do with the other European versions of DM.......as in, we won't let them have a second child if the Clunes' Doc Martin doesn't have one first. But, I'm probably wrong.

One does wonder about the restriction on having another child. From seasons 5 and 6 we might imagine perhaps its because he realized he doesn't really like having sex anymore….

...Or perhaps after LG got pregnant "by mistake" he now ensures:
1. She is on her birth control pill as prescribed--she has to take it in front of him everyday.
2. They have a case of (super large) condoms stored underneath their bed he uses with each sex act for back up.
3. LG has to check her urine every day using an OTC ovulation kit so he knows exactly when she is ovulating and exactly when they stop having sex for 3-5 days.
4. He wears his blue jammies buttoned up to his nose.

Perhaps you have hit upon the reason Louisa got progressively edgier in S6 ....

Louisa doesn't exactly get her thermal long sleeve pajamas from Victoria's Secret - looks like she shops in the sporting goods department of the local box store.

Funny stuff Mona, but I don't think they are saying that DM (and the various spin-offs) can never have another child. I think what he has said is that they can't get ahead of the main show. So, none of them could get married until last fall and they could only have one child up to this point. I never read that as no Doc Martin will have a second child.

Portwenn Survivor voting is very slow this week - wonder if a lot of people are on
Easter holiday? Please make sure to get your vote in.

I've added something new to help you decide. When you go to the "Current Survey" page, all of the episodes eligible for voting this week have hyperlinks to the Episode page. Just click the name of the episode and you can read the short synopsis. Click back to the page and check on another episode. This might make it easier to make your decision - so please vote!

And a big new addition to the site is just DAYS away from being unveiled! I've teased it a little bit in the last month or so (I've been working on it for at least six months now) and I think a lot of you will get a lot of enjoyment from what I have for you. I'll let everyone know when it is ready - I'm counting the hours!

Mona, may I second the words of welcome. You and your sense of humor have been missed!

Enjoying the hilarious discussion about the second child, or lack thereof, and the potential cause(s). The producers seem to want us to think that M and L haven't had sex since S3! After all this time, it would be nice to see those two get busy!

Excellent to see Martin on HIGNFY tonight - such a great sense of humour. Short extract too in the paper this week with a nod towards the Martin & Louisa of series 7.

I just came upon this poem by Max Ehrmann. Isn't it perfect for our Doc? He needs to take it to heart.

LOVE SOME ONE
Love some one -- in God's name
love some one -- for this is
the bread of the inner life, without
which a part of you will
starve and die; and though you
feel you must be stern,
even hard, in your life of affairs,
make for yourself at least
a little corner, somewhere in the
great world, where you may
unbosom and be kind.

Do tell us, brendan's girl, what the paper article said for us other world-ers outside the UK. Please...

Good to hear from you again, btw. May I ask, is your nickname having something to do with Ballykissangel's Brendan, by chance?

Yay...and haven't even seen it yet. The last year and a half have been challenging physically. I hope MC can find a place where he feels healthy. Some parts of S6
were complicated to watch due to the weight loss. I'm glad to see he found a place where he looks awesome but still is fit.

This week's episode thrown out of the surgery:

S6E3 The Tameness of a Wolf

Complete survey results: http://portwennonline.com/SurveyResults.html

New survey: http://portwennonline.com/SurveyCurrent.html

Episode title survey: http://portwennonline.com/SurveyEpisodeTitles.html

I was not able to finish the trivia page for "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?", but I will have it, and the one for "The Tameness of a Wolf" both finished by next Saturday. Thank you to someone for the great ideas in the Episode Title Survey! This person tied the movie into several of the stories in the episode - some of them I never would have noticed!

Stay tuned! New stuff coming - possibly tomorrow!!!

New section for PortwennOnline today - Resumes!

http://portwennonline.com/Resumes.html

I have been working on this for over six months now and it is as complete as I can get it. I wanted to take the IMDb profiles for both MC and CC, organize them, and add to them. I have been able to get some information on most of the roles they have played, but there are some holes - hopefully some of you can help me over time to fill in those holes. For most of the productions they are in, I have included pictures (all are thumbnails - click on them to see the full-sized pics), audio clips, and a synopsis of the program or the series. I also have the date the program (or each episode) was first broadcast or released, the network on which it was broadcast (if applicable), the series# and episode# (if it was a tv series), and what type of production it was (Movie, TV movie, TV series, Documentary). They are in order by the date broadcast (or released) with the television series' slotted in based on the first episode broadcast. One critical thing that I decided while putting this together. I decided not to link to any videos online for any of these programs or movies, because most of them are for sale in one form or another - or potentially will be. In consideration for MC, CC and the wonderful people who put so much time, energy and money into producing this programming, I linked each of them to places where they can be purchased or rented and I hope we all continue to support them with our pocketbooks. Having said that, I know there are productions that aren't available for purchase, so I'll leave it to the clever DM fans to seek them out!

I did, however, link to videos for the next section - "Interviews, etc". Because most of these interviews are never released in any form for purchase (mostly morning shows). If our wonderful friends who record them and upload them didn't do this, they would be lost for all time. So, I have found every television interview I could find for MC and CC, put them in order by date, and linked to a video if I could find it (surprisingly - and happily - a good percentage of them!). The only exception here is the show he just hosted again a few days ago - Have I Got News For You. They sell DVDs of the "best of" for this series, so I decided not to link to the videos. They are out there - you can find them with just a bit of digging! On that page I also included any other miscellaneous video that can be tied down to a specific (or approximate) date. This page also includes programs where MC or CC was the narrator. I included MC's documentaries on his acting pages because he was so involved in all of them - not just a narrator. The show, "The Secret Life of Dogs" for instance, went on this "etc" page and not the acting page because he was simply the narrator and not involved in production. And there is another section called "Commercials, Charity" for mostly undated videos that you might enjoy. And I took all of the strictly children's programming that Martin has done and put that on its own page. One of my beefs with IMDb is that looking through MC's profile, it's filled with every compilation of various Kipper DVDs that have been released - makes it hard to see the progression of his acting career!

One more item - another new button on the left side is "Port Isaac". This is for a planned new section that is a few months away. It's just very time consuming to add new buttons, so I added it now while I was adding the "Resumes" button. I'll let you know when the Port Isaac section is uploaded.

Anyway (I know, I'm a bit long winded) - enjoy! I will update these lists as necessary and I hope some of you can help me fill in any blanks that are there - or even maybe have found other productions I have missed. This should keep us occupied until at least 2015!

Hello, Zarwen--always love your posts as well!

We need to see:
1. DM and LG clearly inferring a sexual life--we all agree with that!
2. Having them put poor JH DOWN, and let the kid try out his legs, his crawling. His legs will wind up vestigial if they keep carrying him all the time and don't play with him on the floor! From webmd.com: "At nine months, your baby has likely become an expert crawler. Some babies are such crawling pros they can hold a toy in one hand while they propel themselves using the other hand and their two knees. Some can even crawl up and down stairs with ease. Just make sure you keep the gate closed unless you’re there to supervise the climbing. Your little one may even be able to pull to a stand, and may soon start cruising around the room while holding onto furniture."

JH needs to be allowed to be more a baby and show us his progression of growth and development.
3. More DM joking--did we all not LOVE the pirate joke in S1? We now know he CAN do it, so let's see more of that!
4. DM as heroic doc; I really like seeing him in those tense life-saving situations, where we and LG see his heroic side.

1. I agree - you would think there is a Buffalo Pictures Code of Propriety in place for this series. For crying out loud, Morwenna has seen more skin of DM than Louisa! They could start off with a outdoor shot of their bedroom window open and curtains blowing and you could hear "Oh, Martin!" and "Oh, Louisa". Or a bedroom scene with each turned towards the other and some conversation transpiring (with the doc's pajama top open, of course!)
2. I don't know about JH crawling around. I am keeping in mind all the cameras and wires on the floor in that space of them shooting the scene. Although I have to admit they are having more "on air" time with the babies than any other series I have seen. When my children were toddlers we had a playpen (I think that is outmoded or illegal now). When I was a child, mothers had a harness on the toddler with a strap attached for the mum to keep the little one from wandering off.
3. Totally agree. In fact, the pirate joke took me by surprise.
4. Tense life saving situations - nothing has come close for me as S1E6 - Haemophobia. - Peter's ruptured spleen and that scene in the ambulance. The music, the ambulance siren, the doc's jacket off, shirt sleeves rolled up, the doc gathering himself together to perform the emergency procedure to save the life of Peter.

Wow! What an incredible amount of work for you to have put together and lots of cool stuff that I had never found or seen before. Our favs MC & CC have a lot of work under their belts! Kinda funny to see some their past work as well. I noticed the one movie CC has blonde hair for her character (obviously a wig) but that leads me to think that for Arthur and George she will be a blonde and MC will have a mustache...

I know we don't get into these type of discussion so much anymore here, but this is where I would rather have these in-depth discussions, so here goes...

I was just thinking about the beginning of S4 (specifically E1) and Martin's decision to try to tame his blood issue and go back to London. I was wondering if Martin subconsciously had an idea that a secondary reason to move back to London would be to occasionally "get a glimpse" of Louisa. In that small village, he had to know where she went when she left, and maybe deep down inside of him he thought that he could accomplish several things by returning to London. Returning to surgery, the only thing he was ever good at, getting out of Portwenn, which had become unbearable because there was no chance at getting a glimpse of her (and I suspect the mistaken identity in the school was not the first time it had happened), and just knowing he would be in the same city with her and perhaps find ways to "accidentally" run into her.

Anyone else ever had this thought? Am I way off-base?
