He is going to be a game show host which doesn't seem like a promotion too me. LindaG has hinted that things have not gone swimmingly with TPTB than are in The USA. I have no hints or rumors....it's just that Craig has a fight ahead of himself.

The Episode Titles Survey: every week I insert the name of the episode eliminated the week before. Just go to the "Episode Titles Survey" page and (in the box) type your ideas about where the title came from (unless it's really obvious) and how you saw different parts of the storyline linked to the title - and therefore linked together. It's very free-form - just type in your ideas/opinions. When you're done just click submit and it gets sent to me.

As far as the numbers next to the titles. Each week I give you the results from the previous week. For instance, last week "Haemophobia" had 31 votes and "The Family Way" had just 5 votes. The list of 16 episodes are the episodes that were eliminated in the previous round. Because they were eliminated in head-to-head voting there isn't an order to place them in the list of best to least loved episodes. So, during this 8 week period in this round, people are voting on their favorite 5 of those 16 episodes. Each week I show the order that they are in based on the most up to date voting. At this point, "Listen With Mother" seems to be the most popular of these 16 episodes and "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" is the least popular. Every week the list moves a bit and a few episodes move up or down. In a couple of weeks, when we finish this round and have only 8 episodes left, I will do the same thing with the 8 episodes eliminated in this round. This way, when we are finished and crown a champion episode, there will be a list of the 46 episodes ranked by the voting.

Clear as mud? ”

Thank you, ShopGirl, that was very "useful" I have to watch myself now to avoid routinely adding quotation marks to my spelling of this word. That little exchange is one of my absolute favorite moments too. Quintessential Martin in one phrase.

Choosing is excruciating, though! Sometimes an episode as a whole may not be one of my favorites, but I especially like particular parts of it. After you finish the survey by episodes, perhaps a scene by scene competition could be next?

Once we finish this marathon I'm going to give the surveys a rest for a month or two. But I've got plans to do some surveys on favorite scenes and favorite lines.

Those are good ideas, ShopGirl! Looking forward to it.

In just 6 months time we should start to get some information from spies and others about the filming of S7!!

oooo, awesome That promises to be extremely fun.

In order to be sufficiently knowledgeable to participate, I clearly need to engage in yet another comprehensive re-viewing of the entire series. Beginning immediately.

Sarah and I started our rewatch. We are up to "The Family Way". When you get to do this I just get so impressed with the acting and writing all over again. And Martin is the best actor I have ever seen.. There is no one that has such impressive and artistic control over his facial expressions. It's so subtle....just a minute change of his lips can say 100 words.......or the way he uses his eyes. It's fun because we both know the story and dialogue so well that we concentrate on all the little things that we both notice. It's just a superb collection of work. And Martin is gorgeous...can't say much more.......just yummy.

OK peeps. There is now a purpose for the "Port Isaac" button on PortwennOnline. This is the last big section that has been on my wish list since I began the site. I've always loved taking a stroll around the village using Google Street View. Even though I've never been to Port Isaac (or even Cornwall), it made me feel like I've been there. But, a lot of Doc Martin filming has taken place on those small mysterious lanes in the oldest part of the village and I have longed to be able to have a better understanding of those lanes - and the Google car can't get down them, so all we are left with is random pictures we find online. So, for the last couple of years, I've been gathering and saving every image online that I could find. I also asked a couple of people to get a few pictures for me - namely, Santa Traugott, Eileen Hurley and the couple who stayed there last spring who posted all the photos (sorry, can't remember their names). I finally have them all organized with the names of every cottage that I have been able to locate. I also have information about the ones that are available for let to visitors and links to their websites. Over time, if I get better photos of some of the cottages, or interesting historical information about them I plan to add to the pages. But one of my favorite parts is that I have created "PortwennOnline Street View" for Middle Street, Dolphin Street, and Rose Hill. Just click on the little directional icons to get a view from that spot.

So, have fun exploring! I know this will be helpful for me when I book a cottage on my first visit to the village. And now I will have time to continue building the Trivia pages and upgrading some other areas of the site.

Congratulations to you, ShopGirl! Fabulosity!!! What an amazing labor of love - and it's so fun and helpful for all of us. I'll be staying in the CliffHouse next year... not sure what street it is on but will try to find it on your site.

Thanks again, you're rockin' it!

I think it will be on a sound stage in a London studio......no where to be able to see it. Probably misc. local exteriors.

A poster on FB found a list of all the MC projects he has planned.......he has about 6 projects lined up including a Simon Nye sitcom....if I wasn't tired I'd copy them....I can't paste her post. Maybe I will tomorrow. Looks like he's set for at least the next 2 years.

I was born in Cornwall and we built a house in a little hamlet called Trelights just two miles from Port Isaac. It was while they were filming the last series of DM, we were able to watch filming from quite a short distance.
It's a beautiful area

Ok...here is the list

Arthur and George...a three part adaptation of Julian Barnes novel filming Autumn 2014 starring MC as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Written by Ed Whitmore.

"The Old Country". A three part adaptation of the novel by Sam North. A comedy drama set in the world of a crumbling modern day stately home. Written by Andrew Davies

"Man and Beast". A two part factual series for ITV filming around the world exploring man's relationship with animals culturally and in the past.

"Travels With My Aunt". Graham Greene's classic novel being adapted into a 6 part television series by comedy writer Simon Nye. To star Dame Eileen Atkins and Martin Clunes.

Doc Martin. Series 7. To be shot in Cornwall 2015

"The Day Off". A feature length script originally written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson for Tony Hancock. Simon Nye has adapted the script with Martin Clunes in the lead part.

So there you have it boys and girls?..."the twilight of my career". Bollocks Martin!

I will be in London in November but working

If the "Arthur & George" series does well for ITV, I wonder if they might option Julian Barnes' "The Sense of an Ending" for Clunes? Tony would be a very toothsome role for him

Perhaps “twilight of my career” is a Beaminster regionalism with a meaning heretofore unfamiliar to those of us not from the area?

You may be right....in Dorset "twilight of my career" means "now I'm really going to get back to work. Watch me." Lol

Martina Navratilova famously said "I've been in the twilight of my career longer than most people have had a career." Given MC's longevity, that seems about right

Planning on being in PI for filming next year for a bit, so it'd be nice to meet up. Several American women went over for Buckham Fair and toured PI and met up for dinner with some locals at the Edge in August. Were you by chance part of that?
