Whatever possessed Jamie to go on a TV general knowledge programme I don't know. He didn't answer a question in the head to head and was only there thanks to a double counter drop in the earlier round.

£3250 and she's going to blow it all at Goodwood?
I'd put my heating on and leave it on until the end of March!

Another failure in the trade. It cost Emily £3,500. You can only assume she's not short of cash.

I cringe and feel embarrassed for the young men who appear on TV with over-elaborate hair- dos.

I thought his hairdo was due to the size of his skull. |

What on earth was this bloke doing? He gets the jackpot counter onto the bottom shelf, two shoves from winning, then changes tack. With the trade round, he had at least 4 counters to use.

His decision makes sense only if he had already decided that there was absolutely no way he was going to risk going for the trade, even if he'd got the jackpot counter nearly over with his last counter. |

First round:
"In Toy Story, what sort of bird is Wheezy?" There was a long pause. Finally one of them buzzed in: "Is it a parrot?" Ben: "No, it's a penguin." Player: "It was a guess." ![]() There is no point in guessing in the first round. You're just risking a counter for almost no gain. Even Ben commented on it, saying, "You don't need to guess in the first round." The show has been on long enough now that you would think people would realise that you should only buzz in the first round if you are absolutely sure of the answer. The bloke that won today made the same mistake in the first round. He buzzed in on "How many witches are in a coven?" and said three. It was thirteen. I wouldn't have known the answer. If I'd had to guess, I'd have said three, like him, (because of the three witches in Macbeth), but I certainly wouldn't have been buzzing in and risking a counter on it when I didn't need to. |

He should have got the counters that dropped as he had answered the question and it was his turn.

He may well have got the "ambient" counter drop if he hadn't waffled so much before telling Ben which zone he wanted to drop in. He would have been in play earlier and the counters could have been his.

Yeah well Ben has a habit of changing the rules when it suits him. Some times he ll allow it and other times he wont.
it will be decided by the independent adjudicator, who is there to give a decision in situations such as these, or if there's a disputed question, or whatever. Ben is the host. he is not there to adjudicate on any issues relating to the questions, timing, or the operation of the machine, any more than any other game show host is. That is not his job. And I doubt very much if the game is "rigged". |

And I doubt very much if the game is "rigged". There used to be a time when alot of contestants used to trade and then not get anything but now not so many will do it. Ben may be the host but it seems unfair on some things he allows and some things he doesnt especially when questions come to mind. There was one on the watch channel last week the contestant clearly said the answer right before the buzzer went but oh no because it was a boy they wouldnt let him have it would they. |
