And both failed to know that Bobby Moore captained England to win the World Cup.
Even worse, one of them gave David Beckham as the answer to 'which world cup winning captain has a statue outside Wembley Stadium'

Another pair of thicko finalists today.
Which Dutch artist etc....? - Don't know but I would have said Lowry. And both failed to know that Bobby Moore captained England to win the World Cup.
I know it comes as a bit of a shock but there is a surprising number of people who both ...

a) failed to be born before the World Cup win was already a far distant memory

b) aren't interested in football

Those in category b) are certainly in the majority. They're not thick. Merely differently informed.

One of the women was probably in her sixties so hardly a distant memory. How someone can be around for that long and not know the Booby Moore answer is beyond belief.

Don't watch the show an awful lot granted but yesterday was the first time I have seen this show when the person with a significant lead after the 1st and 2nd round lost in the "semi final"

whenever I have watched it its been all over before the "semi"- watch it on a sunday and maybe once a week. People may correct me but I think that's a basic flaw of the show- get a good start and you are virtually in the final.........

Isn't that true of all 'races'? As you have now seen, it's not impossible to catch up, but you would surely expect it to be more difficult for a player that's done badly in the first round to win than someone who's done well? Otherwise, why bother with the game at all? Just throw a couple of dice and get the winner at random.

That's a fair point and yes it should be harder to win from way behind...I am reminded of the late great bullseye- when the leading team were miles in front after round one

Isn't he just and he's a teacher he didn't even know the age of the children he teaches. He said Year 4 age 8 or 7, well, Year 4 is age 8 to 9.

It's good to know the education of our primary school children is in safe hands.

Andy's general knowledge was woeful. Ermine is the white winter coat of a.................badger

Some of these questions are pathetic.
Where, on the body, would a man grow a beard?

I do wish that the winning contestants would refrain from giving a running commentary!
We can see for ourselves!

If they're new they won't be returning or if they're returning they won't be new. One of those! Merry Pedantry Day!

I would have thought that a male of his age would have heard of the Grand National and knew that horses ran in it, regardless of the the horse's name.

After tonight's finalist made a complete pig's ear of his counter drop timing, I lost count of the number of riders her got. When Ben was signing off he said something like, "How did Gary get so many riders". We all know why, his timing was blxxxy awful.

I don't think much of Ben's new hairdo.
He looks like Tintin.

Just tuned in and I'm amazed that Billy already has £2,600 as his level of thickness seems to be pretty high. He's never heard of the painter Constable

Probably because he's been promoted to Sergeant!
