Embarrassingly devoid of general knowledge.

Just tuned in and I'm amazed that Billy already has £2,600 as his level of thickness seems to be pretty high. He's never heard of the painter Constable
He did pretty well in the first two rounds. He already had £2500 before the third round.
But, as you say, it's hard to believe that someone of his age hasn't heard of Constable.

There were probably 3 counters that would've shifted the jackpot. Total plonker for not going for it!

Glad he didn't have the bottle, one of the thickest yet.

The 2 double counters certainly helped to that point.
He was pretty thick though.

"On which part of the body would you wear socks?"
"How many months in one year?"
"Veterinary surgeon is shorted to which 3 letters?"

Some very tricky questions today!

Well done Natalie you deserved the £10K. You played the game as it should be played.

Has anyone else noticed they have changed the machine? The bottom shelf can now accommodate 2 and a half counters when the top shelf is at it's farthest out. It used to be exactly 2 counters deep, this now makes it harder to get the jackpot counter.

Hah, yeah I noticed that too. There were a few times they had 3 counters lined up but the end one didn't teeter over. Some strange instances of counters not falling in bulk that you would normally expect also.

My suspicion is they're trying to minimize the early round heavy scoring with lucky double counter drops. Many of us have been mentioning in here about how some winners are effectively guaranteed within the first 10 minutes of the show due to random luck.

Used to generally be a closer show between the contestants in the early days. Although, they could have simply just got rid of the x2 counters to fix it instead of messing with the shelf depth...

Either way, it shows they're a little concerned with the mechanics of the show.
