For some reason I thought this was a repeat of Catchphrase as Jo Brand was in it

Anyway, caught up with it today and what a brilliant win for Jo and her charity. I am glad when it goes to small charities as they need it the most.

For those who have not seen Jo in 'Getting On' it is worth a watch. I think she is a great comic.

He took the money, what a fool. Jackpot counter hanging half off the edge.

To me this is a gameshow where it makes almost no sense to go for the jackpot.

You obviously didn't notice that 'Catchphrase' was spelt differently as 'Tipping Point'.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Have you never heard that . . . 'a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush'?

Nickie was gorgeous in today's show.

Ben couldn't get there quick enough to congratulate her.

Lovely looking girl, and a brilliant guesser when she didn't know the answer.

The one thing I do not understand is why they win pounds but go home with nothing if they do not get in the final. Surely they should play for points and then pounds for the final.

But then this show seems to make it up as they go along

Yep, the whole show is a complete nonsense the way it works. An enjoyable nonsense though.

It's like when they have a bunch of bonus counters and one person hits the buzzer straight away - then scratches their brain for a few seconds before giving the answer. Which is so ridiculous it's laugh-out loud funny. "I've decided you 3 can't partake in this, I have a vague idea what the answer could be but will take my own time".

Surely it has to be an immediate answer when you press the buzzer in that first round? A 6 year old designing the quiz would see that flaw in an instant...

And then they go and get £700 worth of counters with those 3 or 4 bonus counters the other 3 contestants didn't have a chance to go for.

What is the lowest amount (barring trying for the jackpot and leaving with nothing) that a contestant has won?.

The woman yesterday got £1400 didn't she?. I cant remember one that low, but if anyone knows better, would be interested to know......

As for the two finalists in yesterdays show......

Two questions:
Was there a disclaimer at the end of Nickie's show saying that this episode was filmed before the death of Richard Attenborough?
Was there any mention of Ashley Roberts' performance on Tipping Point when she was on Good Morning Britain?

I enjoy this show and Ben Shepherd is such a lovely host.
If I had to change anything about it then I would make each of the contestants in the first round take it in turns to play their three coins without having to answer questions. There is nearly always one contestant who hangs back and keeps their three coins until the other three contestants are out meaning they have a better chance of winning a clump of coins.
They can pretend to be too slow on the buzzer but to me it is pretty obvious what they are doing.
The other thing I would change is the final round. The winner should only be allowed to play in drop zone 2 and 3.

I don't see the problem with this. The person who answers first can pass their go onto someone else if they get the question right, which solves this problem.

Going by your I had to watch what I missed and good grief

Why the heck did she not go for zone 2 or 3. She was not the brightest button so with her 'few' counters she would have got more money as they were both loaded.

Why? What difference would that make? Depending on how the zones had been played up to the point of the final determines which zone the contestant chooses in the final. Why should they be forced to pick the two middle zones?
