The worst answer was from Kristy...

"What is the study of stars and planets known as?"
"Astrology"

Good lord...

Yeah, but that was in the timed round, and she knew she'd blundered almost straight away.

I was laughing again at yesterday's show - yet again, the winner was decided in the first 7 or 8 minutes due to winning a load of penalty pot counters on a stupidly easy film question.

Sure enough, £1000 quid racked up and way ahead. Game over.

They really need to have each penalty counter have a question one at a time, but I guess the show would take too long then. But it's quite hilarious how unbalanced the mechanics of the show are.
They are only 'stupidly easy' if you know the answer.
We all have different interests and different areas of expertise.
You might be an expert on punk rock and I might know all about Opera.
Just because I know nothing about Johnny Rotten and you don't have a clue who Puccini is, it doesn't necessarilly mean that either of us is stupid.

Not everyone has been to the US, and therefore will ever have used US coins. I would have struggled to answer that question in a few seconds if it was sprung on me; given a minute or so I know they have cents and quarters (25c) which are obvious in value, and also nickels and dimes as asked which are not obvious. The nickels and dimes must therefore be 5c and 10c coins respectively, because it would be silly to have a 20c coin when you also have a 25c coin in circulation.

If I had to give a snap answer, I could have seen myself giving either 2, 4, or 5 to it.

I haven't been to US either but I've seen it mentioned in TV shows though I get your point.

The finalist tonight, Sue, gambled £2,700 to try and win the jackpot. She lost the lot.

In my opinion she didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning. The jackpot counter was settled midway between 2 & 3 and she was dropping the counters far too late. She was getting riders nearly all the time towards the end.

She wanted the money to visit her son in Australia and to see three grandchildren she had never seen. She had more than enough for a flight down under. She threw it all away.

Her timing was awful, hence the amount of riders. As you say, even without that, the placing of the Jackpot counter meant she had little chance.

That was a really enjoyable show. The celebs get more excited than the usual contestants - I think that's good.

Well done Charlotte. And Ben ist just GORGEOUS!

New series I take it. I see they've got X2 counters now.

£4,100! TAKE THE MONEY!

It was a racing certainty she would take the money. Her chances of winning the £10K were zero with the 2 counter questions she was taking in the final. All the questions are easy if you know the answer, one, two or three counters.

In the shows I've seen the best sections are 1 or 4 in the final, especially if the jackpot counter lies against the side edge. That coupled with many contestants dropping the counters far too late and ending up with "riders" makes you wonder if they watch the show before they appear on it. Clearly they get no advice from the programme makers.

I'm not a regular viewer but caught a glimpse yesterday. Easy to see why it can get addictive when playing it in the arcade... I'll get the next one for sure! D'oh, okay, just one more! Oh, nearly got it that time! Etc.

Student guy today has obviously watched the show before. His drop-timing was bang on.

And I think it you spawn it and get the double counter over with the jackpot, then they should give you a double jackpot!

I just watched the last 15 minutes of todays show on ITV+1.
It was nice to see him win the ten grand.
