I didn't blame him for not gambling almost £4k to win £10k, specially as the jackpot counter was in an almost impossible position..
Yes, it was sitting in between Drop Zones 1 and 2 which is a very awkward position to be in.

Is the machine tilted slightly upwards at the edge of the shelf?

Agreed, but she still won £2,300 more than me or you.

So do I but only because my brother used to live there, so many people muddle it up with Washington DC

Another great answer on today's show, the guy thought Lester Piggott was a cricketer

I often wonder if it is an age thing when some on here do not have that much general knowledge.
I am probably doing the young a disservice though on this occasion.

A few years back I worked with people about 10/15 younger than me. When I was shocked at some of the things they didn't know (but really should have) they said why do I need to know that

I am no brain of Britain but what will they be like in years to come!

Ha ha. I normally will the contestant to win, but this chap just isn't bright enough to deserve the £10k! I wonder if it's nerves, or he's really this thick?

Never seen anyone go for one point answers in the final round.

And then get them wrong.

I don't think either of the final two contestants today deserved to reach the final. The female knew next to nothing and the chap who won through is releasing the counters far too late.

Question. Which character of P D James is named after an an Irish county.

The female couldn't answer it so passed it. The chap gave the answer as Wicklow.

I did too...and they had no qualms about displaying their ignorance of some of the most basic things/events ! I also cringe when people on quizzes say "that's a bit before my time" or "an educated guess" (when it clearly isn't ) There doesn't seem to be a broad general knowledge amongst a lot of these contestants...or in some cases as in the last couple days, hardly any ! They have an abundance of self confidence (or brassneck) going on these shows though don't they. As we say in this neck of the woods,' I feel ashamed' for half of them.

If you play the tipping point app an update was released yesterday which includes a few tweaks and the new double counters as featured in the show.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I think the '2x counter'
Spoils things a bit, if a player drops a good few counters and the 2x counter, it turns the game into a one horse race!

She has had so many riders but luckily got her questions right and won.

It spoils it a lot, luck has always been very important in TP (much more so than skill or quizzing) but the x2 takes it to a new level of luck and can make the second and 3rd rounds irrelevant.

I think the show would be much better if each round was scored individually, they could still take their total into the final round.

Given that she was releasing the counters far too late and getting riders, plus the two counter questions she took, I thought she was very fortunate to win the jackpot.

Nevertheless, well done to her.
