Today's finalist threw away the £10k jackpot by habitual late dropping of the counters and getting too many riders. Served him right.

Yep. His timing was abysmal. How do they not realise this whilst playing?

Its because its fixed. How convenient the counter falls to the right when he doesnt play on. That would have gone left if he had.

Irrespective of where the counters go he was dropping them far too late to lie flat. He got enough counters in the right place to have won the jackpot but too many of them were riders. You would think some of the contestants had never watched the game being played before. When will they learn?

Last year had 70 episodes but guessing its going longer this year as lists say its on next week.

Tonight's winner got the jackpot despite dropping too late.

She was lucky that the first two counters dropped in the right place to get the jackpot counter over the top shelf after just two drops. She won the jackpot with her last but one counter drop.

We wont get a winner on monday then.

So apparently cockroaches are amphibians...

We have got some poor contestants on today. They seem to have little general knowledge and none of them know when to drop the counters at the right time to get them flat on the shelf. Even they guy who has made it to the final has dropped two counters so early they landed on top of the counters already on the shelf. None of them deserved to win.

That was fantastic.

If I was that chap who somehow managed to win the jackpot I would go out and buy a few lottery tickets.

Yes they way they were playing getting lots incorrect he was very lucky to win and also get the mystery prizes.

I get so frustrated at the lack of ability of most contestants to: -

(a) answer simple questions and: -

(b) drop the counter at the correct time.

i.e. just before (about a quarter of a counter's diameter) the top shelf reaches the position furthest away, so that when the counter hits the shelf it is still moving towards you, thus ensuring that the bottom edge of the counter is dragged towards the contestant and consequently lies flat on the shelf.

Perhaps this is the reason that Ben often seems to have something to say at that point. To put the contestant off at the correct drop time perhaps?
