They really are desperate for teachers these days...

I was thinking it might be fixed yesterday when they asked the black female contestant two questions on R n' B, one question about Marcus Garvey and another on Haile Selassie, but I suppose they would say they were avoiding being culturally biased against black people.

Are all black people supposed to know who Marcus Garvey & Haile Salassie is, and about R n Bs? They wouldn't have known who the winner would be and the questions are pre set for the show beforehand, so I doubt it was fixed.

I apologise on behalf of my fellow teacher-kind for the dunce on today's show.

Most surprising was that he could not make the logical connection between the planet question and the Goldilocks fairytale despite explaining to Ben the salient point in the fairytale itself

We are used to stupid teachers on this show and other quiz shows.

Yeah it's almost like an unwritten rule in quiz shows that all teachers appearing on them have to be as thick as pig swill.

Perhaps they are on them to try and supplement redundancy severances!!

We're off to a good start today.

Question:- In the Bible, Calvary was the site of the crucifixion of which Biblical character?

Contestant :- Joan of Arc.

I despair.

To be fair she did press her buzzer to answer before Ben said "knocking in nails".

Oh. I didn't spot that. I was too busy still fuming at the stupidity of the other answer.

Is this a repeat? A lot of these contestants have been on shows before.

This is definitely a repeat cause I remember that Charles II question.

It's not listed as a repeat in my TV magazine, whereas other programmes are.

It definitely is cause I distinctly remember that guy and the Charles II question.

How could he not know Charles II?

James I came after Elizabeth I (i.e. to early, and was around during gunpowder plot.)
William III (as he said) was William of Orange of the Glorious Revolution.

I'm not even English and I know this stuff.

Also the finalist very vocal today "Oh yes" "More counters, oh yeah oh yeah"
Makes one wonder whether he has some kind of inflatable doll at home.

What with Ben's customary grunting there were several points when they sounded like they were in the throes of passion.

All I can say is that my TV Magazine, Daily Newspaper nor the on-line Radio Times lists today's Tipping Point as a repeat.

In all three publications there are many programmes listed as repeats. Maybe they've used a similar question before.

I go by the double counter but didn't see any tonight but did see thick people again

I will never understand why the counters are pounds when they win nothing when they are knocked out. it should be points and the final should be money.

Some people seem to make a career of doing the rounds of various quiz shows. Not a bad idea if you have the time to spare. All the prizes are tax free.

Before doing Eggheads Daphne did nearly all the TV quizzes going in the 1970s and 1980s. It seemed to be her living.
