Bring back grammar schools and technical colleges!

If the date appeared at the end, then surely they record these a fair time in advance of showing, don't they? When it's a quiz where there is no connection between episodes (e.g. no advancing jackpot), they won't necessarily show them in order of recording.”

Friday's episode (which I still have in my planner) has a 2015 date on it, and Monday's episode has a 2014 date on it as does Tuesday's, which is one my husband remembers clearly.

I remember him as well.

I think I'll give TP a break for a while, the only fun in watching it is the parade of strange contestants with poor general knowledge.

Yeah it's definitely a repeat cause I remember that Shakespeare question about his bed also.

I don't get some people on this show. There was a cluster of counters with a double all hanging off the tipping point ready to drop in drop zone 1 but Maria goes with drop zone 2. Stupid woman.

There's nothing on there to suggest that is the case so no.

I'm just wondering how they clear the dropped counters - is it mechanical, or do they stop recording while someone comes round and sorts it out?

Another thing that I'd like to see is how they set up the machine each time before the show starts.

These little technical details fascinate me

They stop recording and one of the production staff picks them out. Sometimes when a lot fall at once he has to come and count them, so Ben can announce how many have dropped.
The machine was already set up when we arrived in the studio (and it's huge in real life!)

Yes that's him. He was on another quiz show as well. He keeps changing his appearance. I guess he thinks nobody will recognise him but it's hard not to with that accent.

Thank the maker! I don't think there's ever been as annoying a contestant as Dave. (Apart from Daphne Fowler probably.)
