Nice girl, embarrassingly lacking in even the most basic general knowledge or logic.

Another gathering of poor contestants today. Question: Who became president of Afghanistan in 2004. School teacher's answer - after admitting she didn't know -was John Smith.
I think one of her pupils could have come up with a more imaginative answer that that. Needless to say she lost in the semi-final and deservedly so. An earlier question was something like, a person of which religion cannot become King or Queen of England. After saying she herself was a lapsed Catholic she gave the answer Mormon. |

I nearly threw stuff at the TV. An absolute embarrassment to my profession. Very pleased when the last counters dropped to knock her out and send her back to educate our youngsters. Lord help them. How standards have fallen.

Ive only dipped into Tipping Point today after a while. Even Ben Shephard is having a hard time stifling a grimace with these answers. I don't mind someone not knowing an answer, but this woman is a School Teacher and not in the least embarrassed by her poor general knowledge...in fact she seemed to be revelling in her ignorance. God knows what the kids think....amongst others !

A novel written in 1979, before her time?
So she's never heard of Bill Sykes, Scrooge, Winston Smith, etc.? I really do hate that 'before my time' excuse whenever it is used. |

The guy that won....Q: Pete Conrad was the third man to walk on which celestial body?
A: Pass.... Have a f#cking go, for God's sake. What other 'celestial bodies' has Mankind walked on for crying out loud.......

Why the sudden fuss about the primary school teacher today? Very rarely does any primary school teacher on a quiz show have even the most rudimentary general knowledge. They show up like clockwork on Tipping Point. I think there must be a special "priimary school teacher " section in casting.
When she introduced herself, I sighed inwardly and thought "here we go again". |

I think that may have been the young chap in the first round who passed on that question, not the guy who somehow managed to win..

The woman who's leading at the moment is spot on with her timing, in complete contrast to the woman in second who I'm sure is doing it on purpose

Terribly inconsistent in deciding how accurate the answer has to be.
In the second round she answered (guessed) Henry and he pushed her for a regnal number for which she answered (guessed) 8th. In the third round she answered (guessed) James and he never asked for the regnal number. |

Very poor general knowledge from all four contestants today. I can't see Nicola winning too much in the final round. I hope I'm wrong.
I wasn't wrong, but despite getting three of the six questions wrong in the final she came close. She took home £2,900 but Ben "proved beyond all doubt" that she would have won the £10K had she traded. |
