From Wikipedia's LOL entry: Quote:
On March 24, 2011, LOL, along with other acronyms, was formally recognized in an update of the Oxford English Dictionary.[19][30] In their research, it was determined that the earliest recorded use of LOL as an initialism was for "little old lady" in the 1960s.[31] They also discovered that the oldest written record of the use of LOL in the contemporary meaning of "Laughing Out Loud" was from a message typed by Wayne Pearson in the 1980s, from the archives of Usenet.[32]
Note "earliest recorded use". Obviously not current, but it would have caught me out too (and probably anyone else who didn't read dictionaries from cover to cover).

Not exactly news but the questions (today especially) are ridiculously easy.

"Which currency did Germany adopt in 1999?"
Can't believe he didn't get that. ETA only to be out done by Doreen! It's astonishing to watch. Do they not see what's happening? |

None of today's contestants appear to have the slightest idea when the best time to release the counter is.
Difficult questions today though, eg, The bane of gardeners, what animal causes molehills? |

Well deserved winner in Heidi, good general knowledge (very rare on this show) and timing the drops to perfection.

Although to be fair to her, by Tipping Point standards I thought the final round questions were quite tough. Having said that I think I'd have got 4.

By the way, has anyone heard of a "doula" before? I had to put on the subtitles and replay that bit to work out what she said, and then I had to Google it.

I can't believe Aiden refused the trade. Ben "proved" he would have won the Jackpot had he taken it.
Given that he only had a few counters fall behind the jackpot counter out of the 18 he dropped I don't blame him for refusing the trade. We all know he may, or may not, have won despite what Ben "proves" after the event. |

That bl**dy tipping point machine. 18 counters in at the final and the jackpot counter barely shifted at times as the counters stayed away. Then suddenly when we see the what if at the end the counters move over and it might have dropped for the big prize.

Blame the bloke inside the machine who drops the counter when the light comes on.
