I've never understood the "before my time" excuse. I wasn't too sure about the Neil Armstrong question. But if I had to answer, I would have said either Apollo 11 or 13. As for the 1960s album - not a huge fan of 1960s music. I know it's not The Beatles and would have maybe guessed at something like Beach Boys or similar.
I knew it wasn't Apollo 13, that mission never made it, they had to turn back after an oxygen tank exploded. Remember the film with Tom Hanks & Kevin Bacon?

It sounds familiar, now you've mentioned it.

But the questions are SO easy (especially in the early rounds) it's terrifying to imagine people don't know the answers. And many don't. "Before my time" is trotted out again and again. And the guy in this edition who said that the Backstreet Boys released were a duo who released the 1960s album 'Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme' and thought Neil Armstrong was part of the Challenger mission was unbelieavble. I genuinely wonder how many of them get homef rfom the studios after filming.

Trust me, the researchers know what they are doing,,,,many contestants are picked for reasons other than their ability of winning.

How is it that I am being quoted for things I didn't originally post? The above post is one of them.

It must have something to do with others using the "Quote" tool incorrectly.

Exactly how can I and others have used the "Quote" tool incorrectly???,,it's just a button,,,,,,,,gremlins in the system would be a more intelligent guess.

Having done some scientific research into quotegate, it all stated with VirginQueen in post #1643 incorrectly editing a quote which lost the left bracket of the closing '/quote'.

People subsequently then failed to check the preview of their posts to edit the quoted part correctly. And so it carried on...

Honestly, some people here should apply to go on Tipping Point

Well, you did use it incorrectly. Just look at your post #1653. The preview should have shown you that you needed to edit something. There is nothing wrong with the system.

Have you not heard of hyperbole? No, obviously not. I have nothing to "get over", thank you.

Even if you use quick reply, don't you ever read what you just posted?

Nobody trawls back through loads of posts to check the authenticity of a quote,,,,,,what part of this is tripping you up??? use some common sense if that's possible.

Perhaps you should learn to read before you try to insult others. I said don't you ever read your own posts to see if they look right. No trawling back required.

(The Edit button is there for a reason.)

Alex played the game as if he needed to get home quick. His tactics were rubbish.

She jabbered away right up to the closing credits. Nice amount of cash. Flight sim. prize is a bit crappy. Rather have a food hamper or something.

Can you believe Mark?
How can a man get to that age without learning anything?
He had no idea that Maoris are native to New Zealand and didn't know that QC meant Queen's Counsel.

And yet he got through to the final round. Just shows how good the other three must have been!

Should saxons have been allowed? There's a difference between saxons and anglo-saxons.

Agreed, it's poor general knowledge tonight.

Why does Ben keep saying "you could have passed it" when an opponent says they didn't know the answer. If the person does know the answer and passes it to someone who doesn't know the answer nothing changes. The original person drops the counter and the person who could have answered it incorrectly doesn't lose a life. I never understand why he keeps saying it.

Another finalist taking two counter questions.

Precisely the words I used about him. Absolutely without any sort of embarrassment, this clown is so lucky he will win.
