Good tactic changing dropzones

Chris proved today that you can win the Jackpot with terrible timing and having many riders. Well done you.

+ dodgy positioning of star counter between two dropzones.

He was lucky four of his counters fell hard right in dropzone 3!

Graham made a bit of a pigs ear in the first round today. He seemed fixated with getting the double counter over the top shelf for some reason and wasted a number of counters on riders.

Ben desperate for Charlotte to get through

Aw what a shame Ben, no hugs today

You would have thought that Marios would have taken the trade seeing as he knew he would have won it when the show was first screened.

George's tactics were a bit off today in the first round. He got himself eliminated.,

Dave's a giant that went home with £10K.

I wonder if the people on this show, when deciding whether or not to take the trade, take into account the odds they're being offered.

Today the girl had only won £2,000 when she was offered the trade, which is lower than usual. That means she's getting four to one her money to go for it. Compare that to somebody who's won, say, £3,000. They're getting only a little over two to one. Because the jackpot is a fixed amount, the more you've won, the more you stand to lose, and the less you actually win if you take the trade.

Given where the jackpot counter was today, getting four to one my money, I would have gone for it without question. It's likely that just one in the right place would have sent it over, and with three goes at it, it's hard to believe you could be worse than Evens to get it out. Even if each counter has only a 20% chance of success, this still works out at about a 50% chance if you've got three goes at it. Being offered four to one, it's just too big to pass up.

I think Geraldine thought she was auditioning for Strictly Come Dancing rather than appearing on Tipping Point.

How lucky was Amy? All three questions wrong and then she won 5 counters in the penalty pot and went on to win £650. I can't see her getting much further.

In the film, Seven brides for how many Brothers, answer - Pass.

I can't believe Amy answered the batman question when she admitted she didn't have a clue of the answer, but thought he might as he was a children's entertainer

Blimey! Amy has proved me wrong and made the final round.

I think this reflects on the other three contestants.

If all three counters drop badly, the odds are actually longer than that. I've noticed that counters in the outside sectors more often than not gravitate to the outside .. make a note next time and see if I'm right.

Q. Which seed head of a yellow weed is frequently referred to as a clock?

A. Daffodil!

The girl's an 18-year old student, therefore presumably educated to a certain level. Did she never as a kid sit out on a patch of grass in the summer, lazily pick a dandelion seed head and 'see what time it was' by puffing away at the feathery seeds? Surely everyone does that as a child .. what was she thinking? To say nothing of the fact that a daffodil is definitely not a weed!

So often the level of general knowledge exhibited by younger people is frankly laughable.

Well, if Geraldine got the answer about the England sporting symbol right, then Amy would not have won.

I doubt it. However, she has at least a basic knowledge of maths.

(Anyway, she got me tied up in knots in The Code thread over probabilities. )
