I hate people who talk to much on these game shows, Linda is a nightmare.

Half the time Ben presses it when it should be the conterstant.
That was only in the first series. The contestants always do it now.

There is no point at all. What happens may or may not have happened had the trade been taken.
I'm glad someone else agrees with me on this.

I suspect Ben himself is aware how absurd it is playing out the last three counters, and then trying to pretend that's what would have happened if they'd been playing for real.

Why they bother doing it I don't know. It's not as if it fills up a lot of time, maybe a minute or so.

if I were on the show and refused the trade and the jackpot counter was in drop zone 1, and we had to play it out to "see if I would have won", I'd want to put the three extra counters in drop zone 4, just to show how silly it is, although I doubt they'd let you. But it would make about as much sense doing that as what they actually do.

Ben: I'll ask you one more time, would you like to take the money, or take the trade?
Me: I'll take the money, Ben.
Ben: Well done. The question is, would another three counters have been enough? Let's find out.
Me: Why do you do this bit?
Ben: It's to find out if you would have won.
Me: But it's silly. If I'd been playing for real, the counters go in at different times. They fall in different places. It's meaningless. Just because it might drop now doesn't mean it would have dropped if I'd been playing for real. It's a different universe.
Ben: Well, will we just do it anyway?
Me: You do if it you like, I'm away to the pub.

Spot on. There is no point to that part at all.

"The Lodge in Bedfordshire is the headquarters of which wildlife charity?"

I'd never heard of The Lodge, but how many well known British wildlife charities are there? One. The RSPB.

One of them said the RSPCA. That's to due with animal welfare, not wildlife. The other one said the National Trust. Which is mainly to do with historic buildings and parks and so on, not wildlife.

The answer, unsurprisingly, was the RSPB.

To be fair she knew it wasn't right. She just said it to say something.

The actual answer, beta carotene, was pretty tough for a Tipping Point question.

I had the word keratin in my head, which sounds a bit like it, but I knew that wasn't right. That's the stuff your hair and nails are made out of.

Ben is always so smug when he gives an explanation of the correct answers as if he knew it all along.

Incredibly this halfwit is a teacher.
Doesn't surprise me.
I used to work in a teacher training college and as a fund raiser it was decided to have a pub quiz - three teams, students, lecturers and support staff. Every year for five years in a row, the support staff won a resounding victory with the students coming in last.
After that the quiz was quietly dropped.

I loved his explanation of which fairy tale Frozen was based on.

"I don't think it's The Little Mermaid." No, that would be unlikely, as the Disney film based on The Little Mermaid was called The Little Mermaid, if I'm not mistaken.

If you've seen Frozen, which he said he had, it's obviously The Snow Queen. He got there but didn't half go round the houses first.

He never looked likely to get the jackpot counter out.

The guy didn't even know the Eros question - almost impossible.

If they didn't do the "what if" part with the 3 trade counters, think of all the schadenfreude in the country that wouldn't find a home every time they manage to drop it. I just love it when that happens, and I'm not that weird

And the Wuthering Heights one too - it's the first thing that comes into most people's head when the name Bronte is mentioned.

Possibly the luckiest contestant ever. Appalling drop timing, but avoided any riders, then managed to get over a grand in round two with no 'x2' counters.

Just as well, cos he was bloody hopeless at virtually every aspect of the actual game,.

This guy doesn't know very much, been very lucky with some of his guesses.

Don't know what age he is but he certainly can't play the 'before my time' card.

Is it just me, or have the final round questions got much more difficult recently?
