One guy got 33 counters in round 2, He's also quite clever with the questions. He's already just shy of 3 grand.

One of the other contestants got no questions right in her speed round. I think she might have known the answers but was too giddy to think.

'Giddy' is a very polite way of putting it...

She was as thick as two short planks.
Q: What word is the same for something worn on the head by royalty & a dental procedure.
Ans: A filling.

I had to think about that one too.

£3400 going into the final. If he doesn't get the ten grand, I don't think he'll be gambling.

The counters have been throwing themselves at Mark. I thought he was in danger of getting the £10k before he reached the final round!

Better than that . . . . Q. If you buy two dozen eggs, how many have you got?
A. Twice.

I believe she answered 12. The subtitles confirmed it.

Mark didn't have any competition worth speaking of today. He took full advantage of the situation. He equalled the take home record without the jackpot, £4,950. Well done to him.

From the mind that gave you: How many eggs would you get in two dozen?

His knowledge was good, his drop timing excellent, but sometimes the counters don't want to play.

Still, good winning total for him.

Equalled the highest non-jackpot winning total! He was tantalisingly close to getting past the £5k mark. He won the equivalent of 99 counters!

Oh well, I got the Tw right!. My hearing isn't good.
(You can't rely on the subtitles. They're wrong as often as they're right.)

I don't think Jennie has grasped the idea is going for the zone that is in the best position for getting counters to drop. She wasted all her goes and was the first eliminated with just £200.

Kelly wan't much better in round two. She dropped five counters and only scored with seven counters on one drop. The other four scored nothing.

Either that or we're breeding idiots.

It was during the speed round, and I always think they deserve a bit of slack in that round. It's trickier to think under the time pressure.
