Only a few people have speculated that she could and only when it's raised. Most people know it's unlikely.
Anyway, why the put downs to those who are still discussing her. Plenty of contestants hold the attention of people past the show. I liked Melanie when she auditioned in 2011 and thought she should have gone through then and have checked back occasionally to see some of her stuff in the past, though limited. I have done with a few people tbh.
What I find funny though is this.
If the tables were turned and it was Tamera who went home at JH, you WOULD still be talking about her now. She was a hot favourite, as was Mel. It's hardly shocking that those who are favourites to actually win the show would hold peoples attention.
Hypothetically speaking, what if Tamera went out tonight. Would you just stop talking about her and say "well she has gone now, best just shut up and show no interest at all, she must not be mentioned"?
No, I thought not.

I would agree with that. At JH they basically butchered the stronger categories.
They sent Joeseph home out of the overs, who was one of the strongest, sent an interesting and somewhat niche singer/songwriter home.
In fact, they put the wrong three though IMHO, the overs would have been varied, interesting and strong. But they cut them in favour of three ballad belting women.
The boys were weak anyway but they sent the strongest voice there home too, who happened to have a really good tone. He had a lot of appeal.
The girls were wrong too, they sent home Melanie who had the strongest vocal range and was the most polished. She also had a different tone too. Although it was a strong category anyway, but she was the strongest vocally.
The groups I'm on the fence about. But overall JH was just a process of taking a flamethrower to the competition.
