altantis is only a series. i remember waterloo road got shifted about quite a lot so its easily possible.

All you people moaning that Casualty wasn't on....show some respect for goodness sake!!!!!

Festival of Remembrance is on just once a year to remember those who fought and died for your country so you can have your freedom and democracy. Ok, you don't have to watch it but am sure somewhere in your family someone may have fought and died for you.

So before you moan about taking a show off air for one week, perhaps think about what other people might be going thru at this time.

If you could just climb down from your high horse for a second & take the time to read my original post you'll notice that I said "no disrespect to the dead".

My main gripe is with the BBC not sticking to their schedule - whether it's for the poppie or a current affair - such as a police officer getting injured. They even do it for sport, Xmas you name it.

Don't try to hijack a genuine point of view & politicise it to score yourself some points. That's actually worse than what you accuse in the first place.

If your including me i never moaned about the programm that was on. Im complaining about the tv listings always removing casualty when there are other shows that could be changed/removed

Correct, & the other point we discussed was showing the program on another channel (where it would get more viewers based on the target audience/ demographic).

Yes, but Casualty's on nearly every week of the year - surely just missing two or three weeks across the year, especially for something of deep importance like the Festival of Remembrance (which, incidentally, got about 1.3 million more viewers than Casualty is getting about the moment in its overnight figures) doesn't cause you a huge amount of inconvenience?

Casualty is not "always targeted". It is being done on purpose... They can't show Casualty every week and they have to have some weekly breaks..

Casualty is made with these odd nights off in mind.. this series they are making 48 eps, which means that it will be off for 4 nights out of the year (usually Festival of Remembrance, Eurovision and a couple of football matches spaced throughout the year).. Whereas the series before last they only made 42 due to making space for the London Olympics to air..

Would you rather have all the nights off group together to keep it off for 4 consecutive weeks, or the odd one throughout the year? I know i'd pick the odd one option.

I can't say I watch either of those but why would they move something like Atlantis when Casualty base the amount of episodes each series has on knowing how many weeks they'd need to miss throughout the year for the things like Festival of Remembrance , Eurovision, etc

because altantis is a series of something like 8-10 episodes. if other shows like that can be moved around and not shown for ages then altantis can be too. holby city rarely gets moved (if it does its shown on wednesdays ) around cos of its time slot so why does casualty? its no wonder it has lost a lot of viewers if people dont know when its on

They also take a break at Christmas as well but everyone seems to have forgotten that.

Holby has a regular time-slot apart from being shown on a Wednesday last Christmas. For the other 51 weeks of the year it is a Tuesday at 8pm. Everyone knows what time it's on but with Casualty I find myself thinking what time is it on this week? They can't even give it a regular time-slot and that's the annoying thing. I'm all for taking it off for important programmes as was shown last-night, but messing with the time it's on is incredibly annoying.

Personally it not being on last-night didn't bother me as I was out all day and was making my way back home in the time it would (or wouldn't) have been aired. Had I been home I may have felt differently.

It's on next week so that's good enough for me.

In general Holby only gets moved due urgent news reports which is fair enough.. You can also argue that Holby is scheduled to be on air every week, whereas Casualty isn't. BBC + the producers, etc at Casualty probably plan the amount of episodes each series around these dates as they know they are not on air every week. Why would they mess with things like Atlantis because of that?

casualty isnt because the bbc decide to but it realistically should be aired every week.

Why? If it was meant to be on every week it would get moved around more than it does now. Because it is scheduled to be off on certain weeks we are not actually missing any episodes,,

because its similar to holby and its a year long show. the series last all year. so realistically it should be but obviously they choose the easier route

In the last 18 months I've been watching Holby, I can only remember once it being moved. To a Wednesday last Christmas as previously mentioned.

would casualty rate better moving to a friday at 9pm? keep the same time slot every week ?
