Grace has subdural hematoma and I think it's unlikely she will survive. I'm guessing it's one of the storylines that will play out for a year or two.

It would have to wait and be integrated into traffic in and out of Bristol( sorry - Holby) TMA... they have to fit it in under that traffic.
Any ATCOs around? Does Bristol have Special VFR regs and sectors? Feeling very old watching last night. Realised I started college 20 years ago at Brunel College where they originally filmed the external shots of the A&E department, on my third day I had an accident on my moped (FS1M) and bent the front mudguard. Come end of the day I wasn't moving anywhere, That day they were filming and a few members of the filming crew Charlie and the chap who played receptionist (Matt? I think) came over a with spanner and helped move it up a couple of notches and I got home safely! |

For me, the doppelgänger of Dr Zoe Hanna who was portraying a rookie agency nurse was the star of the show.
Surprised Max hasn't made a move on her yet.

Why is it that the characters that I like (I.e Tess) leave and the ones I find annoying (i.e Robyn,) stay

Surely, they would have rung her agency, or at least threatened to if she behaved like that, and would she seriously be able to wander round a hospital environment using her mobile phone? That was almost as far fetched as the rest of the plot!
Hope she doesn't take it though. |

Robyn really is a waste of space. The agency nurse even though she was annoying shows more promise as a character than Robyn does.

I think they were trying to show Charlie sorting out a nurse with attitude and, at the end, recognising the good in her and offering her an opportunity.
Hope she doesn't take it though. |

They haven't replaced Rita yet have they, so I imagine the next couple of episodes will see Duffy, give up her midwifery job, and get her position back in the ED.
For stories that will ruin over the next 2 years. Jacob getting into trouble being up in front of the MMC, maybe getting demoted. Got a feeling Grace will survive, and with her needing Connie more, maybe she will not be the ice maiden. Cal and Alicia I can see Louise becoming a better nurse, back at the beginning of the last series, Duffy saw herself in Louise Im being an old romantic here, but would love for Charlie and Duffy, to be chuffied. Would Josh really have been able to have done all he did last night, as he isn't an employee at the hospital surely he wouldnt have been insured. But saying that during Everlasting, when Charlie and Baz got married, Duffy, Mike Barrett, and Josh helped out. Hope Clive Mantle is ok, he didn't look that well, on his little clip |

Am I the only one that doesn't mind Jacob? One of my favourite scenes was when he was telling Connie about Grace's injuries but did it in a medical way as he knew it would calm her down as she'd go into work mode rather than be in 'emotional mother' mode.
I found the messages annoying as they took the pace out of the programme. |

If Grace is to survive she is likely going to need care from Connie, that is why I was asking could Sam return full time and basically fill the gap in Casualty

I think it more likely she will survive but with brain damage, dealing with the aftercare being the long term storyline.

Elle is appointed Acting Clinical Lead next week and I presume Connie will temporarily leave Casualty to look after Grace at home . I think Amanda Mealing took a break because she was directing Episode 10 of Series 31. |

Thought it was a great episode!
However seeing characters like Tess, Lenny, Abs, Comfort just kind of reminded me how crap the characters of Cal, Ethan and Robyn actually are. As for Jacob this action hero stuff is embarrassing and starting to ruin the show. Its actually annoying that a legend such as Connie is being wasted on a character like that. Seeing Duffy, Charlie and Josh reunited was just lovely. I'm pleased Duffy is back for good. One thing is really bugging me though, even if the car flipped over several times how did it eject Grace and Connie? the seat belts and the air bags should have kept them in the car. Not thrown them several meters from it. |

Good episode overall but could have been shorter, it dragged a bit in places.
The stunt was AMAZING! I was confused thugh as i thought Dylan was on the copter so was seriously worried he was dead. Phew so happy he was ok. Incidentally why did Connie go to hospital in an ambulance and Grace in the copter? I do think the fact Connie seems to be fine and was walking around was ridiculously far fetched. I'm pretty sure both Connie and Grace would have died in that car crash. Nice to see the old faces especially Jay and Alice. Sadly after watching the fabulous 'An Hour To Save Your Life' it makes me realise how unrealistic the resuss scenes in Casualty are. They could at least have a few extras milling about in the room. There is no way a patient in Connies condition would be treated by one doctor and one nurse. |

I thought it was ok but strangely it didn't feel emotional enough to me ... I wanted to have tears in my eyes and feel really connected but I wasn't concerned enough for anyone except maybe Grace to feel that emotion ... And she was too up and down to really get the emotions going.
I did enjoy it though for what it was, but Charlie and his back up dancer Duffy were really getting on my nerves by the end. I actually think the whole thing would have worked much better with the big stunts and lots of medical drama and more Holby characters and without the whole Charlie anniversary nostalgia. I really missed Rita's presence as she would have taken on the Charlie role of organising everyone and done it very efficiently. I wanted to see more medicine and touch and go blood and gore moments and less birthday waffle! |

I think the shot of Bristol was just a little nod to the fact it was filmed here for 20 odd years. I lost my love for the program when it moved and last nights was first episode I've watched since the move if I'm honest, Bristol has a headache of flying zones.. Lots of zero to 4K no flying zones. You can fly over the suspension bridge but not under it after a pilot crashed into the gorge.
