It's interesting how we all see things differently. I don't think Ethan was more motivated by anger when he kissed Alicia. Remember he had already told her he loved her in the last episode, so I just think he felt that Cal had betrayed him once too often and so he saw no reason why he should hold back his feelings any longer.
Out of interest, do you like the character of Cal? If you do, maybe you identify with him more and see the cheating as being the main factor. Personally I don't like the character at all. He's selfish and a complete "player" or "F**k boy" as my daughter would call him. I never liked that kind of boy when I was younger and would always have gone for the more "geeky", shy guy, like Ethan. For that reason I guess I am on his side. I actually don't dislike either Ethan or Cal, but I just can't agree with Ethan's behaviour. There's no justification for it. Cal is wrong for always hurting his brother. Ethan is wrong for sleeping with Alicia, regardless of what Cal has done in the past. Alicia is wrong for cheating on her boyfriend, especially because the person she is cheating with is her boyfriend's brother. |

Even though Cal betrayed him, it doesn't mean that he should sleep with Alicia. How is that right? I know that he had already told Alicia that he loved her but he didn't act on it until after Cal had pissed him off. He could have dealt with his anger in another way.

I don't mind Ethan, can't stand Cal and I especially hate how Cal is always screwing over his brother Ethan after everything Ethan does for him. However, what Ethan's doing can not be defended at all IMO. And Alicia out of decency should also turn down Ethan not give in. I can understand Ethan's frustration towards towards Cal and there are other ways Ethan can get back at him but this most certainly isn't one of them. I hate this type of "affair" troupe where they make the victim into a douche in order to justify it. |

Casualty really does need to get it's grittiness back.

But he did really like her first, a lot, didn't he? He's given in to his brother so many times and covered up for him. Don't you think it's feasible that the stealing of the proposal was just the final straw that made him snap? I can totally relate to why he suddenly thought enough is enough. I cheered when they kissed at last.

Ethan's an adult. If enough is enough he should go to his brother or his boss and talk about it. Going "well I'm going to shag your girlfriend nyah!" is ridiculous, particularly when the only reason Alicia is with Cal is because Ethan was too self pitying to get over himself and ask her out in the first place. The two of them are as childish as each other but in different ways and Alicia should just try match.com instead.

This looks crap. I can say Casualty is in a bad place at the moment, and I reckon that loyal 3.5m who watch it week in and week out will start finding other things soon. Alicia - have her blown up, sent to another hospital - just go.

But a portmanteau is more than just combing two words together to make one. It's a combining of the meanings too so it just doesn't work with names. Eticia means nothing at all.

Not really , we would use brunch, smog (examples given in another post) etc in daily language we wouldn't find ourselves referring to a couple by a "mangled" fanfic name as opposed to using their real names any more.
I mean if you were having lunch with a couple you know David and Alison you would say I am having lunch with David and Alison you wouldn't say I am having lunch with Dalison. Quote:
and an almost completely new cast! Apart from Connie, Dylan Elle and of course Max

I thought Ethan went to Alicia's shared house as the room looked more like that and there were stairs there ... Ethan's flat has always looked a bit more modern. Plus I'm
pretty sure he knocked on the door which he wouldn't do if it was his flat and Alicia shouted as she ran to open the door. So I think he went to confront Cal at Alicia's only to be told he had gone to London - which was also odd as he supposedly left his 'girlfriend' on NYE and after a long shift to go on a two and a half hour journey to London .... |

That would make more sense. I must admit that I didn't pay much attention to where he went and it was a previous poster who said he'd gone round to Cal's which is what confused me.

They only mean something and we only use them in everyday conversation because someone made the words us by going "Oh, I'm fed up of saying smoke and fog all the time, I'll just say smog instead."
. Do you actually know the origin of portmanteau? |

It all started with Brangelina, did it not??
Or was it Bennifer?? Anyway, it's alright when the names go together well but when they are mismatched it's annoying. Eticia is annoying imo. But then so are the "couple". |

I just caught on last Saturday's Casualty, and a few points:
1. Is Seb gay, bisexual or confused about his feelings? Does he have feelings for Dylan, and by making a complaint is trying to hide his feelings, especially if being gay will upset his dad? 2. Although Max seems not to believe Seb, why would anyone not believe him right now when the photo does seem to suggest there MAY be something going on. 3. What was that patient story about? So the kid is not being bullied, but why make up something like that just to grab your dad's attention? 4. Connie is treating Grace any other patient - is she seeing her own failings somewhere in Grace's long recovery? Overall, a good ep, and I shall keep watching in 2017. But, please more patient stories. |

I don't know who I hate more in Casualty, Cal or Seb, both get right up the crack of my arse.

I despise Cal. I thought we saw him soften when he met his mum but now he is just back to being a complete moron. I really wish Ethan would chuck him out and stand up to him more.

Cal is great when vulnerable or out of his depth. Unfortunately he is currently in default mode of arrogance! The pairing with Alicia hasn't helped - a character who has been ruined by this.

New preview gif on Facebook and Twitter is out. Also, a preview of what's to come is released sometime today.
They are going for votes at the National TV Awards! The show and Lloyd Everitt are nominated. Voting is open now. |

I've just watched the last episode on iplayer and I'm done. I really dislike everyone except Dylan, though at least Max is on his side so he's OK too. I can't stand Louise and am surprised no one has ever called her out on her attitude towards colleagues. I'll still read comments here but I won't be watching Casualty any more. When Holby first started it was like the poor cousin, how it's head and shoulders above this Casualty rubbish. |

I've watched Casualty since it started. This past year or two I've sometimes skipped an episode because I've found it either far fetched or dull.

I completely agree although I do like Connie as well and Max!
) She's still better than Elle imo, who comes across as someone who doesn't have a clue how to lead or deal with things.
