In England and Wales Holby City has actually been in the same slot for for years (8.00pm on Tuesdays straight after EastEnders) - the only time I remember it moving was for Holby Blues 2 seasons in 2006 and 2007 so much consistent than Casualty. That said it is in a bit of a slump at the moment so not the best time to start watching although I gather Connie will be mentioned on Tuesday so you might be interested in that.

Amanda said in one of her interviews that Grace is 8 (so they've aged her a little) and is at boarding school.
They'd aged her before she even left HC. She stated she was already 4 in Oct 2010 when she was born May 2007 so should have been coming up on 3 and a half.
Nice to see that Oliver Kent has his feet well and truly back under the table. Everything that was wrong the last time he had his hands on Casualty is back with a vengeance again!
We had everything from Doctors leaving the department mid shift and performing dangerous and completely unrealistic rescues to teacher/student affairs to the staff making eyes at each other.
Over all it's now getting to the point where the series should be killed off. It's so far from the original idea of Casualty that it may as well be a different thing entirely.

Actually, it only moved for the first series of Holby Blue. Series 1 was on Tuesdays in Holby City's usual slot, which was moved to Thursdays for the duration of the run. Series 2 of Holby Blue was on Thursday nights whilst Holby City's slot stayed the same - which I suppose seemed to make sense at the time, although I personally think that decision killed the show as it put it in competition with The Bill.
I'm no huge fan of Oliver Kent's but I think it should be noted that he's in a different role now compared to his previous stint on Casualty which I think some people have forgotten.
Series 21-26 he was Series Producer with Belinda Campbell as Executive Producer (there was another Exec as well in Series 22 but I've forgotten their name)
Series 27-present, Oliver is now Executive Producer (and on Holby).
If we're blaming him for his last time on the show being awful (with one or two classic episodes among the dire) then surely the current finger of blame should be pointed at Erika Hossington or at Simon Harper for Holby?

The reason why we are witnessing an improvement in Casualty is down to the series producer and the mere fact that Kent hates going to Cardiff so is only down there if needs arise. Kent is abysmal as EP, Holby is proof of that and needs to go ASAP.

Yes the SP does but I also believe head of drama at BBC Wales has input hence why casualty feels like it has turned itself around.

But the share was really good and tbh hardly anyone was watching tv yesterday night as all show were down
What a weird episode. The bit at the arena when the man was left dangling on the roof and Connie predictably came in to save the day, was decent...except we didn't need to see Connie as this all-action doctor. She's an excellent enough character on her own not to need silly gimmicks like this. The show needs a headstrong consultant like Connie, who will whip the department into some reasonable shape, because it's been a bit of a mess under Zoe.
But the patient storyline with 'Dan Robinson' and Ella was absolute tripe. Still, I'm looking forward to the conflict with Zoe and Connie which is bubbling under the surface. But it was still on the whole, a lacklustre episode due to the predictable RTA and the stupid coincidence that the teacher just had to be having it off with Ash's daughter. The producers really know how to treat us like cretins when Grant Masters used to be a regular character in the early 00s, who I still remember. It's as if they forget Casualty pre-2007 ever existed.

I think with regards to Oliver Kent, we still see his vision for the show whatever top position he holds. If he and Belinda Campbell held the same viewpoint last time, then it doesn't matter which of them was senior as they could work together on it. The same goes with him and Erika Hossington. What the show needs is someone completely fresh, who knows what Casualty ought to be.
In fairness they did bring back Patrick Robinson in the same role, so they can't have completely forgotten.

I find it very telling that Series 22 which has two Executive Producers is overall much stronger than what was to follow in Series 23-26
