I wish they would stop pretending that Sioned and Ed are some great romantic couple that Eileen would want together. I know Sioned took Ed's money, but Ed:

Fired Sioned for having Hep. B when they first got together

Took steroids lied about that, hurt Sioned and was responsible for putting Hwyel in the hospital

Talked Gemma into starting an arson fire lied about that to Sioned

Hurt Gemma and threatened and blackmailed her

No mother would want her daughter with such a person. Not buying today's happy ending.

I`m glad they didn`t have Garry and Dani`s wedding on anniversary week. Dani and Mark were close friends even after their divorce. So it makes sense that the wedding wouldn`t go ahead on that day as Dani would be grieving, and would probably call it off anyway.

The subtitles in todays show on Clic were all screwed up. After the ad break I went to iplayer to watch the rest of it there.

Yeah, I saw that about the subtitles.

I meant the wedding instead of Mark dying, not in addition to. I think the wedding would have worked just as well as an anniversary event as a death.

I'd have preferred the wedding for the anniversary, much better than killing a popular character off.

How many of these characters do you recognise? http://www.bbc.co.uk/cymrufyw/29425441# I think I can name between 15 and 20 of them. They say the answers will be posted next Tuesday.

Yes, to win some money I believe. It was not a love marriage.

Well what do you think about Garry going to China? I think it probably no big deal. I like Iolo and Gethin together but I wish it was actually for a storyline of substance.

Also I think they need an actual villain, which should be a new character. Some like Moc or the Sinister Minister Owen. Garry just doesn't do it any more.

I agree sderr. Garry Monk has gone soft. The old Garry probably would have deep fried both of Ed(cases) hands to get his 5 grand back.

Yeah, I don't mind that too much as I think they need new blood on PYC. Garry as a long term cast member could never be a Moc. I think there does need to be someone who is capable doing something horrible, I think it should be someone whose backstory I don't know. I think its good to have a bit of mystery sometimes.

I was shocked to learn they're killing off Mark - and for the anniversary! I know PYC doesn't get as many viewers as the big soaps, but I found it stupid that they released the photo of his burial a few weeks ago - surely it would be beneficial to maybe have a week's worth of clues in photo or video form to build the anticipation? I can see they want people to tune in and need the viewers, but when most soaps have an anniversary, whoever dies is a big secret until the episode. But anyway, aside from that, if Mark's killed off by a random in Bristol and not by/caused by Gemma or another PYC character, then what's the point? Did the actor want to leave? These types of exits always make me think the producers didn't want said characters to go, thus giving them shabby exits - it's happened in the main soaps, but if this isn't the case, then his off-set exit seems baffling....

I'm glad you've said that. I don't watch any other soaps so I didn't know if it was normal to show in advance who was going to die. It does seem odd. I feel that it shows a lack of imagination that they couldn't think of a better way to trail the anniversary episodes. (Or a better way to mark the anniversary which didn't involve killing a long standing character.)

Sun_Beam & Malwen I agree with both of you. It almost seems like they are trying to anger their viewers. I agree its so shabby to kill off Mark and then to spoil it for everyone. Also the storyline for anniversary week far from being riveting seems really dull. I am sure episodes will be sad, but where do they go after that.

I do think that PYC has given shabby exits to characters they were unhappy left. Rhys Bidder has had two bad exits so far that left things unresolved because they wanted him to return. I think Mark is different. I think he is dying because they wanted to bring back Kath for the anniversary. I don't mind characters dying as there is dead wood (Anita). A death of a main character should be a big storyline and maybe lead to the introduction of new characters. Neither seems to be happen in this case.

I think its to show that the OCD is causing him to neglect his appearance, he's also lost a great deal of weight. The OCD is not about the cleaning. The cleaning is ritual to relieve the anxiety over whatever happened in the past he doesn't want to think about.
