I watched the 40th anniversary special yesterday now that they finally got the subtitles up.
The documentary mentioned that it took 9 months for the anniversary episodes to come to fruition. So they had ample time to think of a comeuppance storyline for Moc...ample time.
Yes it was a very good storyline with Mark, and his Mother and sister. But I wish we could have had Moc getting his just desserts too. Such a massive missed opportunity there, and I feel quite cheated. Why bother having such a controversial storyline if they can`t even see it through to the end?

I think the Moc storyline would have been COMPLETELY wrong for the 40th episodes when you have casual viewers tuning in. What they did was much more suitable. I agree that Moc needs his comeuppance somehow, but now was not the time to do it!! I wonder if they'll pick it up in a few years after Will is brought back, re-cast, and out for vengeance for what Moc nearly did to him?

I agree with others that putting the Whites in the Deri is a gamble, but Britt has matriarchal landlady written all over her so I have everything crossed it works...

I think Moc is back for the wedding in December. That's the impression I get. Also the BBC documentary made it seem like he is still considered a current cast member. I think that Wil wanting revenge is the wrong scenario. I know some people don't like Gethin and are more sympathetic to Wil, but Gethin's the victim. I don't want a rewrite where Wil was the victim, its clearly always been Gethin. Its Gethin who I want to see get justice.

Which is why I think they need to recast. As much as I like Rhys Bidder, I would have much preferred a recast of Macs to that DJ character they brought in.

I honestly have never liked Ed as the landlord of Y Deri. Nice Ed is horribly bland, nasty Ed we don't have enough backstory on to make that interesting. He's just nasty.

As much as I don't like Sion right now, he's a more interesting character than Ed. I used to really like Sion and I think we could again if he went back to being the man he was at the time of the chip shop fire. I really started to hate Sion when they did that appallingly bad write out of Macs not once but twice. I think its the writers persistent failure to address that, which has forced them to write Sion in the way that they have for the last year. I've never wanted them just write the Whites out and bring in a "nice" new family.

Here are the current problems as I see them with PYC: Major storylines that are unresolved and just stopped leading to large plot holes and character problems, too many "nice" mundane storylines being major storylines (Gaynor's work life balance for example), endless watered down rehashes of prior storylines. The last thing I want the writers to do is throw up there hands and give up and just dump characters. The Whites haven't actually done anything unforgiveable. Its more a matter of the writers thinking of a way to write Sion as more realistic person. That can be done, as the writers have done it in the past.

Just watching last Wednesday's episode - has everyone in the village run Y Deri at some point?!!

The actress who plays Gemma Charles must have an easy time learning her lines. Nearly every sentence is peppered with "I`m sorry". I wish Ed would call a doctor for her...the friend of Anita`s who looks like Griffiths. He was wonderful with Iolo.

Personally I thought it was hilarious! I'm sure she will, too.


The thing is though, Gemma's place in this story is really more about her acting than her dialogue, and in my opinion, the actress is doing a fine job. In fact, I think she deserves an award for it.

I'm confused. Why did Gemma leave chocolates for Angela yesterday? I understand why Gemma needs to apologise to Debbie and Mark but I don't remember Angela being in last week's episodes.

She wasn't in last weeks episodes, I think it was probably just for prior behavior when Gemma lived with Angela and Ed. Likely she's Debbie's friend and Gemma thought it might be good to apologize to Angela too.

I agree, Gemma is such an interesting character and I think the actress is doing a good job as I don't necessarily like her but want to see what she gets up to.

Gemma's blond wig was very sad. Sioned showing concern for Gemma was more interesting than she's been in a while.

For a second or two I thought it was Angela over at Y Deri, and I wondered why she stayed the night. Then when I realised it was Gemma/Maran my jaw dropped a bit. I think everyone elses jaw dropped too LOL
Megan is really becoming a pain lately with her pushiness. I felt quite sorry for Gwyneth in that one scene.
