I do hope something happens with his family, i'm thinking he may get sectioned and possibly come back when he's better or he dies. I don't like either but I would prefer the first option lol

Lets hope Macs is still around for at least another episode this week. Everything was left once again very unfinished.

I don't know after watching tonight's and tomorrow's spoiler clip. I wonder if Iolo didn't just drive Macs back to Cardiff to be miserable alone.

OK... so I just watched the Christmas episode(s) and it seemed a little strange! My (early) New Year's resolution is to only watch with Welsh subtitles so that might explain some on my confusion but still....

Why did Cadno just leave Macs after he fell? Seemed really out of character! Also, when Cadno and the children arrived at the farm Efion went straight to Bobi. He never even *looked* at baby Arthur! The same with Marion - Bobi first, then Cadno. I know that there wasn't a real baby in most of the scenes but you'd think they'd make more of a fuss. And why "Arthur"? Any particular reason.

I didn't think it was particularly odd that Marion just let Macs in like that but what was his plan? He seemed to want to take Bobi at first and just snatched the baby because Marion wouldn't let him do upstairs (because she thought Bobi wouldn't recognize him). Again, Marion wasn't thinking about little Arthur at all! Did she even realize Macs had taken the baby when she went out calling for him? It seemed that she didn't since both Cadno and Efion went in the house to look for Arthur!

I was glad that Iolo found Macs at the bridge (and glad that Cadno and Iolo both realized that's where Macs would go). How did Iolo even know Macs was around? Much as I like Catrin Powell, I was very glad that Cadno realized she shouldn't be back at the farm raising the boys in her current state of mind.

I loved Diane, Dai and Shirley! That was probably the most fun of the whole episode.

Anyway... I'm anxious to hear everyone else's thoughts! Especially considering you have all understood a lot more than I have!

Basilbird, Cadno's actions I don't really understand. I think Macs had a mental breakdown. That's what Cadno told Eifion that he was depressed and started acting strange. Eifion thought he had a breakdown too. Not that it is in the least bit surprising after everything. As far as Macs plan I think there wasn't a plan he just wanted a baby and a family after he lost his. As Eifion said I think he half believed he was Arthur's father.

I don't know how Iolo knew where Macs was. My thought on that since Cadno and Eifion thought Macs was having a breakdown and was depressed they must have called Iolo to go find him. Which is what you would do if you left a depressed man alone on a bridge.

Cadno, if she thought Macs was acting strangely due to some kind of breakdown why didn't she call his family weeks ago? That part I didn't understand how it got to the point that she left him by the stairs.

Arthur's name they didn't explain, I thought he might have been named for King Arthur.

I too thought the episode was a bit strange, are Sion and Iolo going to act for the rest of the week like the incident on the bridge didn't happen? Did Iolo take Macs home to Sion or back to Cardiff? You would think if your son or brother was in that sort of state you wouldn't leave them alone.

I found it strange that Macs was Cadno landlord, how could he have bought another house? Also Cadno said that Eifion had left the presents at her brother, but I been watching since Cadno came into the show and there has never been any mention of a brother!
I found it very strange and not at all realistic.
As for the name Arthur why does there have to be any reason apart from liking the name.

It was strange that Macs was the landlord. I guess the point that they were trying to make was there was nothing romantic going on between them. But then Cadno wasn't paying rent, so that would be misleading. But going back to the earlier point if Cadno was being bothered by Macs because of what she believed was a breakdown she could have called his family. There isn't an obligation to stay in a situation like that.

Was I right that Macs delivered Cadno's baby? That would explain the bond he felt. That and the fact that he was a bit bonkers! Just plain weird that Efion and Cadno just left Macs standing on the bridge. Would have been good if we had *seen* them call Iolo.

No reason that Arthur has to mean anything. It's just that, usually a soap-baby is named for some reason. We've already had Lois' baby named for Gwen (Mac's mum), Bobi (Robert Denzel) was named for Marion's husband (and Denz); I don't think Gwern was named for anyone but his full name is Gwern Harley (as in the motorcycle!).

I never heard of Cadno having a brother either. Maybe his name is Arthur

If Macs sold his house (to Angela), then he might have enough money to buy another (at Cardiff prices?!)

I think that Cadno was acting at least as weird as Macs. Lying to Effion about the accident (and making up that daft story about a car). Everything said to Macs on the bridge. Everything said to Effion the rest of the time. I hope Macs stays around long enough to make some sense of the story but maybe Iolo will just drive him back to Cardiff and hang out there (off screen) for awhile.

Christmas episodes tend to be rather one-offs. Remember last year with Ffion and Jinx up north?!

Macs didn't deliver the baby he was just there at the hospital as he took her in when she had contractions.
Cadno left Macs as she thought she'd killed him.
I presumed Iolo knew Macs was involved as the police were called and would have alerted his family in case he'd gone there.
As for where he is now, very odd that you would drive your clearly mentally ill brother back to his house alone. And if you didn't ad he was at home with family, would you all leave him to go out for a day down the pub like today??? Sion was acting like he had no clue. Though perhaps this was filmed before the xmas special and so has no connection to it to prevent spoilers.
Also the sioned and Ed thing is puzzling me. She cannot even say he was different before steroids because he's been on them since before they started dating. And she moved in pretty fast, it's as if she just wants to be landlady and I do find it odd that most of y deri staff live above the pub. Owain, will be moving in next lol.

But remember Cadno killing the cattle? She was a bit bonkers then and refused to get help. That got dropped when Eifion started stalking Sioned.

Christmas episodes are a bit of one offs but the Jinx and Ffion family stuff came back during the week of the wedding. I thought the week that Darien came back was a good example of writing a short storyline that had a beginning middle and end. I don't know why they don't do that with Macs.

Oh I do think Arthur is a good name for a Welsh baby even if there is no soap connection.

The whole thing with Whites is so odd. They look like monsters to me. I know that they want to support Hwyel but the whole village does. You would take care of your family first.

Sioned and Ed, he was never good to her. When they first got together he turned on her for having the Hep B. She has always wanted to be the landlady at the Deri. However, that a pretty distant dream she isn't married or engaged to Ed. Just because she stays and lets him abuse her doesn't mean he is going to give her a piece of the Deri.
