She was also a regular in Pobol y Cwm years ago playing the mother of the then-cafe-owner, and the soap's first gay character Fiona. It really jarred for me when she first appeared at Christmas as I thought she was playing the same character until she mentioned her two children (neither of whom was called Fiona!)

Would love to see more specials, especially for storylines and characters where you want to see an ending but don't want have to watch the character for the next 2 years. Like Moc for instance, I want to see him caught but not necessarily watch him a long time.

Completely agree, it was absolutely electrifying, especially that last long and top rate scene. And as you suggest, Eileen, Sioned, Angela - nobody comes out of unscathed or entirely at fault etc. Great story being told very well

I've never actually seen Pobol Y Cwm before, but I was chatting to Citadel about it earlier and have decided to give it a go! Can somebody fill me in briefly over the main story arcs over the recent weeks/months, just so I have a bit of an easier understanding of the show? Thank you in advance! I watched most of today's episode in which Sioned confronted Eileen about Angela being her sister, and I must admit I was absolutely blown away by both Sioned as a character and her actress. Absolutely brilliant.

You forgot to mention that she was fit! welshsarah or sderr123 are best placed to fill you in mate, as they're long-term regular viewers.

Eileen found out a few months ago that the baby she gave up as a teenager was actually Angela- her fiancé's ex wife. Eileen is engaged to Jim who was married to Angela and they had a child- Courtney together. Eileen told Angela that she was her mother and originally rejected her but over time they started bonding and forming a relationship, but Jim who knew was worried she'd get hurt. Eileen wanted to tell Sioned but Angela wanted time with her Mom, just them and then at Christmas Angela wanted to tell Sioned the truth but Eileen didn't. Then at New year Angela told Sioned that they were sisters as Eileen is also Sioned's Mom.

Sioned is currently dating Angela's Ex- Ed, who up until recently was taking steroids and losing his temper and lashing out at people including Sioned and the Farmer- Eifion (Who had previously had an affair with Sioned back in Feb, way before Ed. Ed pushed Eifion who landed on Hywel who ended in hospital, so now everyone hates Ed.

Hywel ended up in hospital because he'd just donated part of his liver to Arwen the daughter of his ex wife Ffion, as no one else could be a donor and her actual father- Macs had been chased out of the village for having Hep B and giving it to Sioned. Ffion is engaged to Jinx who acts as Arwen's Dad but he's also Ffion's cousin.

Macs is Sion's son, and Iolo's brother. There's a whole story there about male rape, pupil/teacher affairs etc but until Macs properly returns we won't confuse you with it all.

I think I've covered most things. Oh no- Sheryl.

Meic used to run the café with his son Kevin. But Kevin raped Sheryl, the day before he married Debbie. To get revenge Debbie blackmailed Sheryl not to drop charges as Sheryl had tried to kill Kevin, and Debbie wanted him to be free so she could fleece him. Eventually Debbie gave up on her marriage and blackmailed kevin into selling her the café or she'd tell the police the truth. Meic is currently trying to get the café back. Anita who lives with Meic is his ex wife, and they had a son together Darren. Darren has a son with Sheryl and returned to take him to Canada after he found out about Kevin raping Sheryl and the Moc stuff (again won't confuse you), because Meic hid the truth about Kevin and encourage Darren to take Sheryl's son Wil, Anita and Sheryl are currently not talking to Meic.

Now I think I've covered it.

A brilliant summary bar the BIB: Meic and Anita live together and are on very good terms.

One other thing about Sioned because it may come up. Sioned was a wild child and trouble maker(short version here). She has had a very strained relationship with her mother. 2 years ago she was using sleeping tablets to drug Aunti Marion (her great aunt) and steal money from her. Her father found out, and he died had a heart attack before she could make up with him. She had a psychotic break and tried to kill herself and her mother so she could join him in heaven. She was in hospital and has had treatment and she recovered completely

But Eileen could not forgive her and for more than a year and would have nothing to do with her. It took Eifion's stalking her before she would agree to forgive her. Sioned I think is still very hurt by that.

I find the Meic and Antia with the doll story line so ridiculous! They tried smuggling a blow up doll to their car without anyone seeing!! Now in real life you would pop it and throw it in the bin, I don't understand what the big deal and the fuss about it. I thought that was a very poor come back from Debbie and the writers, surely they could've thought of something a lot better.

I have a feeling that Sioned and Angela will become very good friends and possibly turn their back on Eileen, I don't know, that's the impression I got yesterday. Plus- they have another confession- who and when are they going to tell Courtney? She reacted badly to the whole DNA test, who knows what will happen once she finds out about this.

I never used to like Angela but she's grown on me a lot and is now one of my favourite characters along with Sioned.

We haven't seen much of the White's recently- I hope Sion and Britt can resolve their problems!

I think we need a family centered episode with the Whites like they just have had with Sioned, Eileen and Angela, so they can sort out their many problems. Maybe that is coming though.
