Thanks for the info! We will probably get to see Angela then. It was sad that Courtney died but since Katie wanted to leave we'll get a proper ending to her storyline. It also creates new storylines for characters who are staying.

Actually, I'm not sure where this leaves the Proberts. Courtney was their future which is why I find it so odd they killed Courtney off. It smells of Lucy Beale to me but that storyline was a disaster and is in no way any kind of template!

Well if you notice none of the teen characters in recent years on PYC have stuck around to become series regulars. I think that reflects what PYC pays them frankly.

How many characters have they given open ended exits to recently. How many have come back to the soap? How many of them have they recast? The answers is Chester and Catrin have been recast and the rest have fallen into the great yawning abyss that is Cardiff or Swansea etc. etc. never to be heard of again. That they had parents or children or siblings in Cwm Deri does not seem to be a consideration at all.

You can definitely see that PYC doesn't have as much money as the other soaps in some things. Almost none of the teen characters stick around after their 18th birthday to become regulars. Also if you notice when an actor in their 20s or 30s leaves they almost always leave in an open ended way so that they could come back. That tends to leave storylines unfinished. The way they had Jinx leave was probably the worst example of that.

Funny thing is, no-one ever comes back! I think Jason and Sara are the only comeback characters in living memory.

I think it's sad that you can't watch past episodes of Pobol online. Most other soaps you can track down old episodes of, but not Pobol. I just find it curious they have 42 years of material, most of which will never see the light of day again.

I think there isn't much commercial market for it and the BBC won't put it out for free because of the precedent. They don't want to release for fear that there might be pressure to put out other BBC shows.

It just struck me that, in Tuesday's episode, the scaffolding outside the Antur had been rapidly dismantled, although I suspect that APD may still have some questions to answer about it.

There has been no mention of why it was erected there, and we might even suspect that it had been put there solely for Courtney to crash into!

Quite fast but not that fast. Maybe 30. But the way it looked, she crashed into the scaffolding, which the crash destabalised leading to what happened. I thought maybe APD might be in trouble but from the spoilers they are going in a different direction with the story.

Also I'm sure Gethin said the car hadn't finished it's MOT before Courtney took it, but that seems to have been forgotten.

Poor Courtney and Jim but it looked to me like the crash was due to driver error. Courtney was emotional after finding out about her pregnancy and Ed killing Dewi. She was a distracted driver who forgot the street had gotten blocked off and her foot got stuck.

I have always been under the impression that when a traumatic event occurs, people are advised that if they should wish to talk to someone, counsellors are available.

However, it appears that at Ysgol y Mynach, following Courtney’s tragic death, the pupils are being pressured into talking to counsellors, whether they want to or not. This is taken to an extreme, with Ricky being chased down the corridors when he refuses to do so.

Is this the general policy at schools these days?
