I admit - laughed at Ed crying. It was just too much. I understand why they wrote it though. The thing I do like about his storyline is that they haven't had to give Sioned a personality transplant - she's always been spoilt and wanting to get her own way - the gradual build up has been good to see - other soaps should take note!

Ed crying was really guilt over Courtney, and also probably just a release for all of Sioned's bullying. Jason and Sara can only be in their late 30s so I don't think it's very realistic that the baby has Down's when Sara is still fairly young!

I really do feel sorry for Ed (have to try and forget that he's an accidental murderer!)

I've been reading stats - the risk of Down's increases with the mother's age. I think it increase every year older.

Because Sioned is a long term character they'll probably give her a personality transplant when the storyline is over.

I was kind of surprised they made Jason and Sara's baby have Down's because it's quite a big undertaking. They tried it in The Archers (Vicki and Mike) and subsequently sent the couple off out the soap presumably because they struggled with developing it. And that was on radio.

People should stop saying end Ed and Sioned story. PYC are showing the fact that men as well as women can be abused. But all some people seems to do is moan about it. Abuse happens whether you like or not, so stop moaning. I think PYC and the actors are doing a great job by highlighting the problem. I don't like it but it happens.

You know she did. She was going to tell the police the day she died, because Ed had confided in her about it.

I think some people's issue with this storyline - certainly my view - is that it had become very repetitive. It's been better since Courtney died because at least it's going somewhere. It's almost certain it will come to a head at Christmas.

Does anyone else watch PYC on the iPlayer? If so, can you get subtitles for Thursday's episode? English person here who can't speak/understand a word of Welsh. Well only the odd one.

I also think the Sioned and Ed storyline has gone on too long. Yes I know domestic abuse happens where the woman is the perpetrator but this is a soap and storylines tend to get dull the longer they're dragged on.

No, you are not alone - glad I was not the only one. It was no big deal, just had to watch it on S4C Clic instead - with that infernal advert for HD before it, which you can't get out of watching!

The whole Sioned bullying story has been going on for years and feels very repetitive, it's just dragging on and doesn't feel like it going anywhere at times.

Most times it feels like the story line has come yo a great big heap

I think the story dragging and going on and on was baked in from the beginning. Its not a normal domestic abuse storyline because Ed killed someone and attacked Gwyneth. He doesn't have the normal outlets to go and get help. If he told someone they'd react like Courtney did and think killing Dewi was a more serious matter than Sioned's abuse. I don't think he would necessarily get much sympathy. So I see this dragging on until Ed turns himself into the police or gets seriously injured.

Yeah I watched it on S4C this morning. Never normally use that app, but I was glad it had subtitles on. I did try and watch it without and guess what was being said - but failed miserably. I thought the first scene was Sioned half heartedly apologising to Ed for punching him - but it was quite the opposite!

On that very subject, is it just me, or was the punch a bit over the top. Ed's a pretty tall guy with a bit of muscle on him and Sioned is small/slim. I find it very hard to believe she'd be able to hit a guy Ed's size so hard that it'd knock him off his feet...

I thought it was hard to believe that hit would hit ed down

Why is Sioned such a bitch I've only been watching since September so a bit out of the loop and why didn't she tell Eileen and Jim about Ricky? She saw him with Courtney, would of saved all the trouble of accusing Ed and Effion.

I would refer the honourable gentleman to my reply in post 5039 - and advise him to watch S4C Clic's version instead.
